Some year I may dig out the pics of me in costume as a kid (Strawberry Shortcake was my favorite!) but since I do not have those at hand I’m going to post some pictures and my story from this past year’s trip to the Myrtles Plantation – which boasts […]
Douglas and Jenna were the first couple to book me for 2009 this past winter. It seemed so long ago then but now it doesn’t seem like it is all that far away! In September we went out to the Mill Stream Run Metropark in Berea and took some shots at some various areas in the park. We started off at Music Mound, played around the river a bit and ended up on a trail near the old bridge. When we arrived at the trail, there was a large family of deer playing in the grass. I am a total animal lover but Jenna wasn’t quite sure what to think of the deer so we waited for them to go back to the forest before continuing on with the session. It took everything in me not to run up and get closer shots of the adorable baby deer that was all too curious about my camera and came pretty close on its own. The lighting was magical for the session and these pics all show off why its so awesome to shoot just before sunset. Enjoy their session… and look for them in June 2009! I can’t wait to shoot their wedding!

I have touched on this topic briefly in the past but after this (almost finished) busy season of weddings, I feel that I am going to need to make this a full post on its own. **I have added onto this in 2009 after more experiences with guest photographers** When it […]
I have been brainstorming for the past few weeks on how to get testimonials on my site without it being too canned or cheesy. The one thing I absolutely have adored about my brides this season is how awesome and real you all have been. I am so blessed to […]
After meeting Joe and Rachael for their fabulous engagement session in Little Italy, I couldn’t wait to see them the day of their wedding! They are such a great fun-loving couple and they are SO much fun to work with. Their wedding day was picture perfect in a gorgeous location in Willoughby at Manakiki. The wedding was held outdoors in a gorgeous arbor of trees and perfectly captured their ‘Fall in Love’ theme as Joe and Rachael said ‘I do’ beneath the canopy of just-turning fall leaves. They walked off into the autumn sunset and it could NOT have been any more perfect.
Their reception continued to love and laughter as they got toasted by friends and family. There was not a dry eye in the house after the top 10 list was read off by her sisters and bridesmaids. Grandma Jane’s reason they should marry was the best – she was the most adorable thing EVER. I wanted to bundle her up and take her home with me. There was also some SERIOUS dancing going on. Joe and Rachael had a choreographed dance for their first dance that started off with “The Best is Yet to Come” by Frank Sinatra and went into “Stayin’ Alive” by Wyclef Jean which was choreographed to the beat and they shook their little booties to much laughter and applause. The father/daughter dance was an elegant waltz to “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder and everyone was in awe. The night ended with the band taking off and everyone danced the night away.
Thank you both for allowing me to have a part in your amazing day!!!

I had the absolutely amazing honor of shooting Eric + Melissa’s wedding back in September (I know, I am so behind on blogging it’s awful!). Their wedding was an intimate affair with just them, her parents, her brother and his girlfriend and myself and was held at Fieldcrest Montessori (what used to be the Hoover Farm) in North Canton literally down the street from me.
Melissa moved in across the street with her parents and brother when she was about 5 and she was 2 years younger than me. We became fast friends and our soul purpose for existing was to spy on the neighbors and torment her younger brother. We grew apart as we got older but recconnected via MySpace a few years ago. She had moved to Texas and not too long after we started talking again she met this amazing guy. I heard a lot about this guy and how perfect he was. He completed her. When you meet them, you know this isn’t just some corny line from a movie – it is so true. They are a perfect match.
Their wedding day will probably go down on record as one of the most disasterous weddings I’ve ever attended. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING went right. They had came home from Houston to get married here only to find out that a hurricane hit home (Ike) and were nervous to get back. THEN Ike hit HERE taking down power across most of the area. She scheduled, unscheduled and rescheduled her wedding a couple times. During our bridal shoot (where she wasn’t afraid to get a bit dirty!) Eric happened to pass us by in a part of the city he shouldn’t have been at. The officiant was late. The dinner was an absolute disaster. Despite all of these mishaps, they had one of the most beautiful ceremonies ever and I even got a bit misty eyed when Melissa got over her giggle spell.
Any moment that they were together, the world stopped and things were just perfect. If they made it through that day, they will make it through life without any issues.
Thank you both for letting me be a part of your special day!
