Brides Talk • Cassie

Cassie and Jeff were such a dream to work with.  They trusted me completely and whether it was to walk towards a bridge that almost got blown up the night before while the 6 o’clock news was filming or to go to a grungy looking section in the Flats because the skyline there is amazing, they trusted me and went with it.  The end result is some of my favorite wedding images from the year and one of my most requested locations after a certain photo.  I also have a bit of a love affair with New Orleans so having that as their theme from their wedding made me a happy camper.  I am honored to have worked with you both!

“I spent a LONG time searching for the perfect photographer for my wedding, and when I stumbled over Corey’s blog, I became slightly obsessed.  I knew that I had found the photographer for me.  What I liked the most about her photos was how natural everyone looked in them, and that is what I wanted captured on my wedding day.

Although I had only met her once before our wedding day, Corey fit right in.  When I was planning my day, I thought it was important to have a wedding photographer who I would get along with, because I knew I would end up spending all day with her.  I definitely found that in Corey.  She went beyond her photography duties to help try to make my day everything that I’ve always wanted it to be.

One of the most fun parts of my wedding day was the two hours between my ceremony and reception.  My bridal party was really in to taking crazy photos, and Corey totally went with it to come up with fun ideas.  I had a long list of places downtown that I wanted to take photos at, and thought there was no way we would have time to go to all of them and get to the reception on time.   Corey made it happen though!

What I was not expecting when I hired Corey is that she was way more than a photographer for me on my wedding day.  She was my advocate throughout the day, she helped tie up the corset of my dress, she bustled my dress after the ceremony, and she coordinated the hours during which we took pictures between my ceremony and my reception, directing my limo driver where to go.  My wedding day was hectic, and it was great to have an experienced photographer to help me navigate the day.”

I loved my dress! I had such a fun time traveling to New York and being treated like a princess at Kleinfeld where I purchased it.  Corey helped tie up the corset when my bridesmaids were having difficulties, and helped with the complicated bustle- I don’t know what I would have done without her!

st stephen roman catholic church wedding ceremony

I first saw this church when I was on a field trip in 7th grade.  I decided then that I wanted to get married there- and I was lucky enough to be able to do it.

groomsman on east 4th street in cleveland

One of Jeff’s groomsmen never got the memo not to wear white socks with black pants. Corey got a great shot of the guys making fun of him!

bride and groom handcuffed by police

One of my bridesmaids came up with the idea for this photo when we saw the police car.  Corey was all about it, and the Cleveland Police were nice enough to let us do it, resulting in some of my favorite photos of the day.

I love the Arcade and knew I wanted to take photos here. Corey made it work.

new orleans themed centerpiece at windows on the river wedding reception

Our theme was New Orleans, so we wanted to tie that in to our centerpieces.  I found this great idea online where each table was named after a street in New Orleans, and we put a spin on it by making the table numbers look like street lights. Thanks to my mom for helping me make these!

sweetheart table at wedding reception at windows on the river in cleveland

The big window was my favorite part of this room.  Jeff and I really liked the idea of a sweetheart table, and we were glad we decided to do it.  It was one of the few times during the day we had to be with just each other.

wedding reception entrance at windows on the river

Our bridal party was so amazing.  They totally surprised us by doing funny dances for their entrances.  When Jeff and I heard all the laughing and applause when they were dancing out, we had to come out from hiding before our grand entrance to watch!

Jeff’s favorite picture.  I think it represents the fact that we got each other’s back!

My favorite part about wedding photography is that within my team, I work with the brides. It is an incredible honor to get to be part of someone’s special day. Makes the job more than fulfilling. Beautiful work.ReplyCancel
