Portrait • The Lucic Family • Virginia Kendall Park

•  I have known Melissa (Mom) since I was in First Grade, it’s hard to believe it’s been that long!  She joins a long list of former classmates that I’ve had the joy of working with.

•  I was so excited to finally meet her daughter whom I’ve heard so much about and she was every bit as adorable as I imagined she would be!!

•  Some sessions go off without a hitch and others are a bit trickier to get smiles from the little ones.  This session fell into the latter as a favorite stuffed animal was put away so he wasn’t in EVERY picture and someone was still recovering from a cold.  The combo resulted in quite a few tears but in between we got some smiles.  If your session doesn’t go perfectly, don’t worry!  You are not the first, nor the last person to have a child that isn’t smiling and happy for the full hour.  Heck, even most ADULTS don’t make it the full session without getting tired 😉  It’s all part of the fun of having a relaxed session though and while I’ll be there to capture the smiles and the cute moments in between the tears, you will want a few of the screaming ones to tease them with later on!!  Ha!

•  The weather and leaves couldn’t have been more beautiful – this past autumn was a strange one as we didn’t have much change so I’m glad that their date worked out for the best between the colors and the temperatures.

We started the session out with S’s beloved Pooh but it was decided that we didn’t want him to be in every shot so he went back to the car to wait.

That didn’t go over quite so well with Miss S.

However upon Daddy’s return, he was able to get some smiles out of S and she was happy again!  This is my favorite from the session 🙂

Yes, I’m a Daddy’s Girl.

S’s grin here is infectious!

mother and daughter portrait

S had a smidge of a fall and ended up needing to be calmed down a bit after.  I really loved this image of her and her Mom chilling out.

I love this image of S seeing her Dad come back!  SO excited!
