• Douglas and Jenna were the first couple to book me for 2009 this past winter.  It seemed so long ago then but now it doesn’t seem like it is all that far away!  In September we went out to the Mill Stream Run Metropark in Berea and took some shots at some various areas in the park.  We started off at Music Mound, played around the river a bit and ended up on a trail near the old bridge.  When we arrived at the trail, there was a large family of deer playing in the grass.  I am a total animal lover but Jenna wasn’t quite sure what to think of the deer so we waited for them to go back to the forest before continuing on with the session.  It took everything in me not to run up and get closer shots of the adorable baby deer that was all too curious about my camera and came pretty close on its own.   The lighting was magical for the session and these pics all show off why its so awesome to shoot just before sunset.  Enjoy their session… and look for them in June 2009!  I can’t wait to shoot their wedding!

  • Almost a month ago (ACK where has my time gone!) I met up with Joe and Rachael for an engagement session in Little Italy in Cleveland.  I absolutely LOVED this area (I had never been before) not only due to the great nooks and crannies to be had but for the smells!  WOW.  Someday I plan to seriously chow down here :)   Joe and Rachael had booked their wedding pretty last minute so mostly wanted to get together to get to know one another before their big day (which is this Saturday) and get a few pics in.  I had so much fun strolling around the ‘main’ street of Little Italy and then down the street Rachael used to live on.  There were so many wonderful places to shoot and they were such a great couple to work with.  They are such a cute couple together, it’s impossible not to smile when seeing them together!  I can’t wait for Saturday!   Thanks for coming out and introducing me to a new neighborhood!

  • I apologize for my slowness in blogging – it has been a crazy busy month!!! It all ended last night with Heidi’s wedding which resulted in way too many pictures to even wrap my head around! Whew! I am mostly off for the next month (I do have a wedding on the 15th) so I plan on getting things caught up in a jiffy! Thanks for being patient!

A couple weeks ago I met up with Marcus and Celeste at University Circle for some engagement session fun! They were such a great couple to play with – they are obviously super cute and very in love. AND have fabulous taste in shoes and you all know that I love shoes! We spent an hour in the yummy evening sunlight taking pics around the park and having fun. I can’t wait for their wedding in Akron in October! It’s sure to be a fantastic day!

Enjoy some of my favorites from their session! Thanks guys! See you in a little over a month!!

  • What a whirlwind the weekend of 08.08.08 was!  Whew!  I started off that friday at a wedding in Navarre, went down to Jordan + Cody’s wedding in Columbus on Saturday (with a quick stop for lunch with my wonderful sister and brother in law) and rounded out the weekend with a stop at Mohican State Park on my way home for an engagement session with James and Emily whom had just booked with me that week!

I picked Mohican because every time I am on my way home I always want to stop there but never seem to have the time or the motivation to do so (I seem to do most of my traveling to Columbus and back in one day).  I have a love for covered bridges and forests so I was really excited when they agreed.  Turns out that Emily (whom is originally from Millersburg but now resides near Chicago) hiked here a lot as a child so it has added sentimental value!

We started off at the covered bridge (which is not rustic and is a newly built one but still pretty!) and then went over for a few shots at the gorge overlook.  It was a super sunny day with not a cloud in the sky so we’re going to go back for some yummy light shooting in the fall when they come back to the area again.  I have my sights set on the fire tower and luckily they are down with that idea as well.  They will be getting married on May 30th of next year so you’ll see them another time before they get married!!

  • I met Jordan through a friend of mine that works with her and referred her to me.  She booked pretty last minute so we had to rush to get her engagement shoot in.  I got a few suggestions to go to the Franklin Park Conservatory and met up with Jordan, Cody and their son there.  We got a couple family shots in before their son decided it was play time and then headed off to do some engagement pics while Jordan’s Mom took their son home.

Despite the shoot being in full sun, hot as heck and a bit buggy I think we got some great shots for the short amount of time we were out!!  They are getting married this weekend so look in the next week or so for some more amazing shots from this fabulous couple!

Later today I’ll be posting images from a wedding from the other week… then this weekend it’s two more weddings so there will be lots of pics coming your way!
