Springvale Ballroom Wedding with Danielle and Gregory

Bride and Groom wedding portrait in the flats in Cleveland

Danielle and Gregory were supposed to get married in April 2020 but instead right before their wedding the world changed and their plans were altered.  They ended up having a small intimate wedding on their original date and planned their ‘original’ plans for a year later.  However, covid was still around and things were so unstable that they opted to yet again alter their plans and slimmed down their guest list and dinner plans.

I adored working with Danielle and Gregory.  They really made the best of the hand they were dealt.  The perk to being married already was that they were fine doing a first look and doing a lot of photos before the ceremony.  We started out in downtown Cleveland with their first look at the Fountain of Eternal Youth, then over to Public Square and finally down to the flats before heading to Springvale to finish up photos with Danielle and Greg outside before their ceremony.

They had their ceremony with just a few guests before doing their special dances afterwards. Then the rain came in and made me SO glad we were able to get all the photos in early!  We headed to finish the evening at Behind the Woods and they had their cake cutting and dinner and danced a bit with their family.

Congratulations to you both and a huge thanks to Tom for being my wonderful second yet again!

Cleveland New Year’s Eve Wedding with Meaghan and Danny

Winter wedding portrait at Edgewater Park with dog

If you told me on New Year’s Eve in 2019 that the following year we’d be in the midst of a pandemic and that legally no one could be even be out to celebrate the new year I’d have laughed in your face.  It’s wild how much changed so quickly.  It was especially ironic for this wedding because they were referred to me by a past client, Annalise, who also got married on New Year’s Eve,  and was a bridesmaid for this wedding.

Most of my November and December weddings postponed to the following year but due to various reasons Meaghan and Danny went ahead with their wedding that was during some of the strictest rules of any weddings during the pandemic so far.  Beyond the rules about gatherings – distance rules, dining rules, no dance floor (save for the special dances) there was also a curfew of 9PM.  It was very, very strange to be home and unwinding before midnight struck!

Meaghan and Danny handled all of the restrictions with grace and still had such a fun wedding despite all of it!  Their guests did too – I heard one woman remark that it was one of the best weddings she’s been to because you always want to talk to the people you’re seeing that you rarely get to see but between the dancing and the loud music it’s often very hard to catch up with people.  She had a point and everyone definitely seemed to be leaning into the change and visiting with each other and embracing the new world we live in.

I also LOVE they were able to have their adorable doggo meet us for some photos!

Thank you both so much for trusting me to capture your day!

Legacy Village Proposal with Evan and Karlina

Proposal at Legacy Village in Ohio

Back in December 2020 I was delighted when my nephew Evan asked me if I’d capture him proposing to his then-girlfriend Karlina.  I always get nervous before proposals but doubly so before one for my own family (well my husband’s but I claim them now).  Normally I can blend in as the weird photographer roaming around in the background taking photos of things but when they know you it’s a bit harder to blend!  Luckily with some weaving and bobbing and stealth text messages from Evan I was able to capture it without Karlina being any the wiser! Even after she pinged her family around she still didn’t realize I was there so I guess I did good with my disguise (masks are so dang helpful for this!).

They got married on New Years Day and it was so weird to be a guest but I’m so delighted to have Karlina in the family!
