Ariel International Center Wedding with Renee and Kevin

wedding portraits at squires castle in ohio

Many years ago I worked with Renee’s sister Rita at her wedding and I was SO delighted to be asked to photograph Renee’s!  I love when I get to work with families more than once and this family especially as they were SO fun and kind.

Renee and Kevin were yet another couple who were affected by covid.  It’s been so fascinating to see how my different couples chose to embrace the weird times we are living in.  Renee and Kevin, like many of my couples, chose to get married on their original date in July but changed it up for a small wedding near their home.  They then had the bigger wedding and another ceremony in September.  Renee opted to also wear her dress twice which I LOVED because her dress was stunning. Some clients opted to have a simpler gown for their smaller ceremony.

Since they were already married, they opted to do a first look before the ceremony so we could get all of the photos done before the ceremony.  It’s a rarity to do this before a Catholic wedding so I liked the change!  Like her sister, she opted to go to Squires Castle and North Chagrin Nature Center for photos and added a new spot with a stop at Buttermilk Falls.

Bridal Gown:  Stella York via Carrie Karibo Bridal / Bridesmaids: Azazie / Cake: KB Confections / Catering: Italian Creations / Ceremony: Saint Paschal Baylon / DJ: DB Entertainment / Florist: Lowe’s Greenhouse / Hair and Makeup: Ramona Dauksa Studio Refeyeance Makeup and Hair / Menswear: Geno’s Tux / Reception: Ariel International Center

Snowy Gervasi Vineyard Engagement Session with Elizabeth and Ben

Snowy engagement session at Gervasi Vineyard

While I am catching up on the blog I’m going to try to keep up with what is going on now so that I don’t add to the backlog.  Fingers crossed I can keep this up!

On Monday I met up with Elizabeth and Ben at Gervasi Vineyard and wowwwww, it was literally the perfect winter wonderland engagement session!!

Originally we were supposed to do the engagement session last week but then we got a massive winter storm that dropped around 16 inches of snow.  While Elizabeth wanted snow for their engagement session that was WAY more snow than we bargained for!  The roads were terrible and to be honest I’m also not sure how to make thigh deep snow look romantic!  So we rescheduled the session for the following Sunday.

Well, we got snow in the forecast again, YAY but then, yet again, the totals kept creeping up and up and up and we ended up with another snow storm.  This was a lot more mild though and the temperatures weren’t too bad and there was NO wind so they opted to go for it.

Originally we were going to go to the Gorge Metroparks but due to the roads being kind of crappy we changed the location at the last minute to Gervasi Vineyard which was close for both of us.  It worked out perfectly and was a rare weekend day where Gervasi was not busy at all.  It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL though and I’m so glad we made it work.  It was like being in a snow globe!

I can’t wait to see them again in November!
