Married: Jenna and Doug 06.20.09

Jenna and Doug were the first couple to book me for 2009 last year so it feels like I have been waiting for this wedding to happen forever! Last September we met up for some engagement portraits near where their wedding would be (and encountered a family of deer making this still one of my favorite engagement shoots!) which helped with the waiting for their wedding to take place. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for their wedding day – sunny and not a drop to be seen anywhere. So far *knocks on wood* my brides have all been VERY lucky when it comes to rain on Saturdays! I started off the day with the girls and my assistant Nicole headed over with the guys and dodged nurf darts as they played around before they had to get dressed. The ceremony was held on Baldwin-Wallace campus and the church was GORGEOUS and modern. We were able to stay in the area for pictures afterward which always isn’t an option but the grounds are gorgeous! The cocktail hour – one of the nicest I’ve seen – and reception were held at the Sheraton at the airport. The party went all night long and NEVER hit the ‘boring’ stage thanks to some seriously awesome DJ-ing by Troy Entertainment. The most important part of the day of course though was Jenna and Doug getting married because once you meet them, you instantly see that they are perfect for each other.

Thanks so much to you both for choosing me to capture your day and I hope that you enjoyed your honeymoon!

Ceremony: Lindsay Crossman Chapel
DJ: Troy Entertainment
Reception/Catering: Airport Sheraton Hotel

Nicole got this awesome image of the guy’s array of cologne sitting out while they were getting ready.

Nicole also got this shot of the Nerf guns.

One of the ringbearer’s got stage fright so the first one down the aisle came back, took his hand and walked him down = priceless!

The dip & kiss! Gotta love it!

This chapel was so gorgeous!

I walked out of the chapel and this is pretty much how the groomsman were already standing, I just moved a couple of them and shot. Easiest pose ever and one of my favorite groomsman pics ever!

My favorite shot of the two of them from the day.

Jenna was such a beautiful bride, I really adore this bridal shot of her.

They had bubble guns to keep the kids occupied during the reception and I loved the way this little girl was entranced by the bubbles and the bokeh the bubbles made.

I left just as Troy Entertainment was digging into their bag of tricks – one of them being this lit jacket which I adored – and so did Jenna. She took it from Doug and boogied around in it until it became too hot for her to wear. Every few songs or so to keep things interesting the DJ would pull a new trick out of his sleeve. I LOVED it! So much fun from a photographer’s standpoint!

Next up… NEW KIDS! Woo hoo!

Corey Talks: 2010 Brides

I will be blogging more pictures tonight but I wanted to quickly write this blog up while I was thinking of it!!

In the past month or so I have got a lot of inquiries for 2010 and it is starting to book up. If you are a 2010 bride you may want to make sure you start booking your vendors as I know I’m not the only photographer that is booking up. The general rule of thumb is that you should book your photographer 12 months from your date but personally I think that if there are vendors (ANY vendors, but especially venues, photographers and videographers) that you want for your date you should book them as soon as you set the date.

I also want to mention that all I need is a deposit and a contract signed to book you. We do not have to meet in person. Actually a lot of my clients I book over the phone!! So if you know you really want me, call and let me know and we’ll get the ball rolling. We can always meet up later at the engagement shoot – I’ve also met a lot of my brides the day of the wedding! I love to meet people beforehand but it isn’t a requirement to booking with me.

Finally I want to refer everyone back to Saving the Date in case we do meet up. I wish I could ‘hold’ dates for everyone but that’s simply not possible.

Thanks so much!!!

Engaged! Carla and Craig

A little over a week ago I met up with Carla and Craig on a gorgeous night in Canton. We met at the McKinley Monument but since it was a bit busy with kids and people we decided to head over to the Canton Garden Center which was peaceful and virtually deserted. We played in the Children’s Garden for a bit and then went over to my favorite bridge and got some yummy light shots before heading around in the park to finish out the session. They are SUCH a fun couple – easy to shoot and their love is easy to capture on film. Made my job easy! I had such a fun night with them and I hope they enjoyed their shoot as well. They are getting married in August so look for them to return to the blog then!

Thanks guys for such a fun night! See you soon!

I knew that I was going to have a fun time when they were laughing within minutes of the first shot!

Carla bustin’ out the Single Ladies dance on the musical trampoline.

My favorite bridge!

This is one of my favorite shots from the shoot!

Another favorite! They are adorable!

High five!

I adore this ring shot!!!! One of my favs ever!

Stay tuned for blogs from the New Kids On the Block concert (you know I went!), from Jenna & Doug’s Wedding and from Maureen & Mark’s Rehearsal & Wedding!!!
