The Columbia Ballroom Wedding with Corrigan and Scott

Corrigan also goes by Corri so pretty much I loved her from the moment we met because when you have an unusual name (especially for a girl!) you feel a kinship with those that have the same name.    They also brought their dogs to our first meeting and they were so adorable that I was super stoked when they ended up booking with me!!  After their amazing engagement session with their adorable dogs, I couldn’t wait to see them again (almost exactly a year later) at their wedding!

The weather the day of their wedding literally couldn’t have been better, especially since they chanced it and had their ceremony scheduled outside.  It was a bit warm but completely doable and one of the first weddings I’ve had at the beginning of October that wasn’t unseasonably cool.  After their ceremony we headed downtown for some photos with the awesome dramatic skies before heading over to The Columbia Ballroom for a few more photos before the beginning of their reception.

I really loved watching Corri and Scott all day – they have such a great bond and it was a dream to document.  They laughed SO much together but also had some serious moments where they were able to come together and find peace with one another.  My favorite moments of theirs was to document their dancing where they just had SO much fun with one another and their friends.

Thank you both for being so wonderful to work with!!  Thank you also to Andrew Jordan who was my fabulous second photographer for their day!

I adored Corri’s David Tutera gown, it had the slightest hint of coral in the tulle of the skirt.Pink Tint David Tutera Wedding Gown

Corri also put on her Mother’s gown before she put on her own and I also photographed them together.

I loved her classic touch of pearls for her jewelry.

A local company made their invitations, Hollo’s Papercraft, and they were beautiful.

Corri had been ill the week of her wedding so she took it slow getting ready and you couldn’t tell for a moment she wasn’t feeling 100%!

Corri’s Mom helped her get dressed and it was perfect!

How amazing are father/daughter first looks?  Especially theirs?  I love this new tradition SO much!

How awesome was it that they had an unplugged wedding? YAY!

This was a beautiful setup for the wedding ceremony at Grand Pacific Wedding Gardens!

Due to the stairs it’s not easy to keep an eye on the groom AND walking but Corrigan managed it beautifully.

Andrew captured this image from above, if you look hard you’ll see me on the other end of the aisle.

It’s so difficult to balance the levity of the day with the sadness one feels when there’s an important member of the family missing on a wedding day.  I know this from my own wedding where my father and father in law had both recently passed.

Corri wanted to stop and leave a bouquet for her sister at her grave on the way to the reception and I think it was a beautiful way to honor her.  After a few moments with her sister, Scott and other members of Corri’s family joined her and they all paid their respects.  It was the perfect balance to honor a cherished and beloved family member who should have been a part of the day.

We then headed downtown to the new East 9th Street Pier Cleveland Script for some photos.  Since the guys got waylaid with the new restaurant’s bar I started with Corri!

Eventually everyone made it and we were able to get everyone around the sign.  This pic always makes me smile!

These guys were such a hoot!

Seriously, I can’t stop laughing!  Also props to these ladies for climbing this IN HEELS!

Incorporating traditionally girly colors into a wedding can be tricky but I really loved how sharp the coral looked against the grey suits.

It was seriously just a beautiful day!  The Columbia Ballroom looked fantastic!

While everyone was getting things off of the bus and settled into the ballroom Andrew and I roamed around capturing pictures of the gorgeous decor inside.

I loved the mason jars with the burlap, ribbon and lace details!

Not going to lie, I also took a few pictures of the horses behind because they were too pretty not to!

The pink in Corri’s dress was difficult to capture but when you can peep it a bit like in this photo it makes me love her gown even more.  I may have a thing for gowns that are a wee bit against the norm.

Seriously, love these two!

Before we headed in for the cocktail hour they even fed the horses who had come over to check out what was going on.

How fun and perfect are their s’more wedding favors?

They kicked off the wedding by cutting the cake and did it perfectly!

It should come as no surprise that their first dance was also perfection.

Once all of the festivities were over they both just let loose and had a joyous time with their friends and family – like every couple should do!  It was a perfect night!

Before I left I made sure that I got to photograph their rings and I really loved the cutting on Scott’s ring, how fun!

Alley Cat Oyster Bar Event with Sips and Dips

Every year I volunteer my services to Sips & Dips which is an amazing event put on for Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.  For many years they stuck to the same place but for the past few years they’ve broadened their horizons and have started to go to various areas in and around Cleveland.  This year’s event was at the Alley Cat Oyster Bar.  Unfortunately there was a TON of rain that night so the outside deck was tented but it was still a fantastic event!

I’m so glad that I’ve been able to be a part of this fantastic fundraiser for the past few years and every year it seems to get even better!

When you arrive at the event you are given a wine glass for all of the sampling in your future!

Typically near the glasses they also have some kind of bubbly to start you off with.  This year it was one of my favorite proseccos!

Over the years they’ve had a few different fun things to win and the wine pull started a few years ago and has been a big hit.  Wente Vineyards graciously donates some various wine bottles and you draw a number and get the corresponding wine.

Throughout the event space are stations with various wines (and even a beer station) from Wente and Heidelberg Distributing.

The rain eventually let up and while it wasn’t much of a sunset at least the guests were able to take in the beautiful views from the rooftop deck on top of Alley Cat Oyster Bar.

Inside there was all kinds of yummy “dips” provided from Alley Cat.

It always seems that no matter what the date of the event, the weather isn’t ideal but everyone always makes the best of it!

Every year he makes me smile!

There’s always SO many smiles around the room!

The wine, of course, is always flowing.  As it should be!

One of the best parts of the evening is listening to the good that comes from events like these.  The stories are always inspiring and wonderful and I’m so proud to be a (small) part of it.

Sometimes people even dance if the mood strikes!

Before I left I was able to get an image of these two board members with photos from the children at Rainbow Babies & Children Hospital.  These are SO special and wonderful (as are these people).

Canton Garden Center Engagement Session with Angela and Frank

The summer of 2016 was crazy between the insane heat and rainstorms so a lot of my engagement sessions that were on the books opted to move back into the fall when the temperatures were a bit more moderate and the rain wasn’t quite so frequent.  Unfortunately we did get hit with a bit of rain at the end of Angela and Frank’s Canton Garden Center engagement session.  They made it work with an umbrella and it was perfect.!

Of course, my favorite part about this session was their ADORABLE dog being included.  I always smile when people ask if it’s OK if they bring their dog because I always reply and say NO NO NO PLEASE BRING!!! Due to our crazy schedules we do not have a dog but I adore them so I get really excited when I get to see a new one.

You’ll be seeing this sweet couple again in September and I’m SO excited to work with them again!
