Port Clinton Family Session

Every summer I go with a group of friends up to Port Clinton for a few days following the 4th of July. It always tends to fall right when summer is swinging into action and it’s nice to have a few days where I know that I will be doing nothing other than enjoying a morning mimosa and sitting by a pool. I always bring my camera (because not only is it my job but something I really enjoy) and it’s been fun capturing the Gunar family kiddos growing up over the years.

Last year we tried to do a formal family portrait than the usual drag-the-kids-out-of-the-pool style shot we typically do but the weather gods had other ideas and after all of us getting completely drenched on the way home from Middle Bass Island, we opted to do it at a later time. Summer gets busy and life happens so it ended up taking place this year.

We were going to try to find a great spot to go but I always photograph by the motto of make your location work. It was the beginning of the insanely hot days we had in July and we all decided to just make the area around the hotel work to our advantage. It worked out!

Hopefully next year we can repeat this session and we can continue to watch these kiddos grow!
