The last time I blogged I blogged a product shot of a canvas I’d had made for my dining room wall.  I believe I’ve had these canvases (I got 5 in total printed) for a few months and I’ve been constantly begging my husband to help me hang them.  My husband grew up in a house where nails in the wall were almost a sin and it’s been an uphill battle with him to get anything approved to nail in the wall.  The only thing I’ve actually got him to approve of in the 5 years we’ve lived here is a Wyland painting that I purchased a few years back.  I did sneak a canvas on the wall in my office a couple years ago when he was at work but that’s it.  If you came to my house before this weekend you would see a lot of canvases sitting on the floor.  It killed me!  I wanted these gorgeous canvases on the wall dangit!!!  I FINALLY DO!  I have to say, I’m kind of enamored with them and want to have a party just to show off how much it changed our dining room and made it look so great.  I was so excited with how the dining room looked I had to take a few pictures to show everyone to hopefully inspire you all to order those prints and make your home happy!

I have to confess though – there are still a few paintings on the floor hoping to get their moment in the spotlight… here’s hoping that day is soon!

I laid out a few of the the prints I had thought about placing on the wall on the table to get a feel for how they’d look together and Kitty decided they made an excellent place to lay down!  Thank goodness they are wrapped around a solid frame and this didn’t damage them in the least.  It’s one of the things I LOVE about this new canvas company – these suckers are not only beautiful but STURDY!  No drooping here!

Ta-da!!!!  I now realize I should have done a before and after shot to really get you guys inspired but… ah well!  Seriously though, it’s a HUGE improvement over the blank beige wall.  I’m still not sure if I am sold on these images together.  Chris loves them but I’m still not sure.  We shall see how it settles and go from there!

I know it’s been a bit slow over here on the blog but I must confess that it’s been absolutely lovely to enjoy this time off.  I’ve been doing a lot behind the scenes though even though I’m not shooting.  I’ve been designing albums like crazy, getting all that fun tax stuff to my awesome pants tax guru and catching up everything so that once the season starts I can hit the ground running!  However all of that stuff means that this blog has been kind of quiet and I’m sorry about that!

Today I thought I would post a canvas that I had printed recently for my home.  I’m a bad photographer – would you believe that almost NONE of my work is on display in our home?  There is ONE photo in the office but outside of that, there’s nothing other than a couple snapshots I’ve taken of family members at events that are framed.  I did have one canvas made a couple years ago from one of my favorite pictures but when I got it I realized to go where I wanted it to go I needed to have three at least along the wall so I ordered a few more to complement the first picture.

I must confess, I am in LOVE with my new canvas company.  They are super fast and the quality is out of this world.  I love the details and the finishing on the prints and I can’t wait to see them FINALLY hanging on the wall!  I also ordered a canvas from our wedding and I am SO excited to finally have an image hung on our walls from our wedding… 5 years later.

They truly are works of art and I hope that more of my clients order one so they too can enjoy the yumminess of a canvas print on their walls!

I took this image during my trip to PEI in 2006 and it still remains to be one of my favorite lighthouse images.

The finished corners are perfect and gorgeous.

Can you see the texture?  People will ask you if it’s a painting, trust me.  I’ve been asked this about a dozen times already!

Last year Matthew & Lauren were the winners of the annual album giveaway and I was really excited to design their album.  Life happens though so things took a bit longer to get everything sorted but in the end it worked out perfectly.  They opted to incorporate purple into their album rather than black or white (which is most common) and while it took a few tries to nail the right shade, I love the end result.  This album was my first Flush Mount in a linen and I have to say, the end result is pretty spiffy.  I just sent this baby off this morning and am eagerly awaiting their thoughts!

One thing that I am SO glad I purchased with my package when I got married is a hard bound proof book, which is why when I started out I made sure that it was a part of my offerings as well.  It made life SO much easier when browsing the many images from our wedding and also made it easier for my Mother in Law to choose the images she wanted (she’s not exactly very adept on the computer).  Over the years my proof books have evolved a bit but I have to say I’m quite in love with the style I have now!  Each proof book will have all the images from the wedding along with the number separated into categories similar to how they are found on the flash drive.

I love when people are on the ball and KC & Kyle were definitely on it after their wedding!  They got their images to me super quickly and we were able to get rolling on the album design.  I had a lot of hesitations for this album – usually I go all black or all white for the pages but KC made the request for colored pages to match the images on the pages.  Initially I was worried it would end up looking too clownish but I LOVE the result!  Then they chose “Lady Luck” for their fabric and left the spine leather choice up to me.  I wasn’t quite sure how this look would turn out in real life but when I opened the album I almost swooned!  It’s GORGEOUS!  I adore it!

Enjoy these images and a couple sample spreads from their amazing album!  I apologize for the flash reflection in the album.  I got this late in the day and wanted to get it out the next morning to them as it was nearing Christmas so I did these shots at night.

Andrew’s Mom wanted a parent album to match the one she had made from his sisters wedding so we spent a few months creating this beauty to show off Andrew and Kelli’s wedding while keeping true to the theme of the other album.

For Christmas Christen and Ben decided to gift each of their parents with an album of images from their wedding day (collective awwwwwww! right??).  Such a great idea and I am sure they loved such thoughtful gifts!

Carolyn won last year’s Album Giveaway and quickly got the images she wanted to include from her wedding to me.  I couldn’t wait to get this album from my company because I was not only eager to see the cover (the leather I didn’t have a swatch for and I was interested to see it) but all of the images in print.  I still LOVE that they played football during their “picture time” the day of their wedding.

This is a new album that I just started offering this year after using The Lindsey Family as guinea pigs for my first one (I got this for Gianina for Christmas).  I quickly fell in LOVE with this album and added it to the roster for an alternative album to the higher end style.  They also make great guestbooks due to the layflat properties.

One thing that I know that I have been lacking on the blog is product shots of the albums I carry! Over the next week or so I plan to rectify that! I take pictures of the items before I send them out but I never post them! That changes today!!!
