Skybus is my new favorite airline! At the beginning of January, they had a sale on flights for $20.08 each way. I booked a trip for a couple weeks later to go down and visit some friends of mine that live in Louisiana. I had a great time and saw a lot. I’ve visited there quite a lot but I always manage to find something new to see and do. This year I stayed at the Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville. It is quoted to be the most haunted house in America. I stayed by myself (the hubby couldn’t make the trip) and I have to say I had a blast. I didn’t see any ghosts per se but I did see some strange happenings! I love plantations and I was mostly excited about just staying in one – the ghosts were just extra excitement! Below are some shots from my trip!

Nottoway Plantation in White Castle, LA on River Road. The largest plantation left in the South at 53,000 square feet! Hopefully they had maids 😉
Bon Sejour aka Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie, LA on River Road. Most will recognize this from Interview With the Vampire. The Live Oaks here are over two centuries old!
Evergreen Plantation in Edgard, LA on River Road. One of the most complete plantation complexes left in the South.
Slave Cabin row at Evergreen Plantation. Very few cabins remain and those that do are rarely in their original location. I believe this may be the only row still surviving in the South.

Biloxi Lighthouse. It was damaged in Hurricane Katrina and was just recently restored. I want to say this is the only lighthouse in Mississippi that survived.
