My husband Chris has been friends with Bill for a very long time and their friendship even survived being roommates for a few years – I feel that if your friendship can survive that you can pretty much make it through all of life’s dramas. Bill even was one of the few guests we took along with us to the Outer Banks for our wedding! Over the years Bill has dated a few girls but none were his perfect match… until Jen. A couple years ago we met Jen over dinner and as soon as we left I turned to Chris and said, “I LOVE HER!” and he felt the same way. Jen is hilarious and wonderful and Bill’s perfect match in every way possible. Over the past couple years we’ve got to know Jen better and we adore her SO much. What’s even better is that they have this amazing daughter, Ramona, who is the kid who makes you want to have kids. She is hilarious and funny and I adore that kid. I can’t wait to show her off below in the pics, she was just so much fun to capture!
After Bill proposed to Jen in Disney World (awwwww) we met up when they got home and celebrated. I was so honored when they selected me as their photographer! I consider ALL of my clients friends but sadly sometimes I never see them again (seriously, this makes me sad sometimes, I’m a goof). This time? I KNOW I’d be seeing them again (actually have already) and it’s just SO much fun to photograph friends. Their wedding was so relaxed and easy. The ceremony was intimate and perfect – from Ramona and Jen’s Dad walking Jen down the aisle to their adorable first kiss that ended with the biggest grins I’ve ever seen either one have. The reception was at Jen’s Uncle’s home in Lodi and was a relaxed BBQ for their friends and family with lots of kids and tons of fun. It was the perfect wedding for these two!!!
Thank you both for trusting me to photograph your day!!! Love you all!
I adore Jen’s dress and the sash!!!
One of the unique things from their day was a first for me – photographing the bride and groom getting ready together!
Love this image of Jen getting her dress on!
The church is new so it is still a bit under construction and I just LOVED the backdrop of wood.
Awwww!
After the ceremony we headed over to the reception area and took some portraits around the yard.
As a joke when Jen filled out the questionnaire she mentioned she wanted a photo that was sunny but windy enough to blow Bill’s hair but snowing, with a rainbow, sparklers, a unicorn and a lightsaber.
Mission accepted.
Now onto the other images…
Bill is not the most relaxed in front of the camera but this one he FINALLY smiled! WHEW!
Jen planned the wedding very much around the kids and the kids having fun – so there were these BRILLIANT goodie bags with glow bracelets and necklaces, candy and more.
Jen’s Mom’s friend made the cake and the clay cake toppers which were AMAZING. On the main cake you’ll see Jen, Bill and Ramona. On the gluten free cake you’ll see their pets on a couch. So awesome.
I adored all of the details for their wedding!
As people arrived they grabbed drinks and found friends and hung out.
Well, except this guy. He wasn’t a fan of me but this image cracks me up!
This kiddo is SO SO SO CUTE.
This is Ramona. She is awesome.
THIS IS WHY. Her expressions crack me up and I was laughing the whole time I’m editing.
See what I mean? I could photograph this kid for hours.
OK so maybe I did…
I promise, there’s other people that had pictures taken of them but… SHE IS SO CUTE!
After an hour of mingling Bill and Jen welcomed everyone and invited everyone to dig into the BBQ and they made a quick change while everyone was eating.
The kids had SO MUCH FUN playing in the yard and with each other.
After dinner they cut the cake and it was hilarious and perfect!
They spent the rest of the evening visiting with friends and chatting with everyone.
Perhaps also catching friends in the act of mischief. 😉
I got to play with the rings a bit and this was by far my favorite.
At the end of the night they humored me by allowing me to run around them with a sparkler. I didn’t catch them on fire. SUCCESS! I also have the fun bonus of the “honeymoon” full moon behind them. They had changed into their going-home clothes by this point but I still love this image!
