After the lovely engagement session with Alexia and Jonathan I was very much looking forward to their wedding, especially when I found out that Grover would be in attendance. Their dog is seriously the sweetest dog and I loved being able to sit with him while Alexia was getting ready!
The whole day was a perfect fairy tale. While I could talk about how beautiful the ceremony and reception were what will stick with me most for their wedding day would be the way that Jonathan looks at Alexia. The love is in every glance and touch and it made working with them a dream. Their bridal party was the icing on the cake as they were super easy to work with as well and went along with all of my directions.
Many congratulations to you both! Thank you for having me along for your day.
Cake: Delectable Delights by Debbie / Catering: Phuel Cafe / Ceremony: St. John the Evangelist / DJ: East West Collective / Florist: Off Broadway Florists / Photo Locations: East 4th Street, Shooters on the Water, Heritage Park /Reception: Cleveland Public Theater
Both Alexia and Jonathan got ready at the Westin in downtown Cleveland. I checked in with the girls and then headed down to capture the guys getting ready before they headed to the church.
Alexia got Jonathan sunglasses as his wedding present and I love this image of him trying them on.
How fun are Alexia’s blue shoes??
While I was capturing images of Alexia getting ready Grover was fast asleep next to me.
Isn’t she gorgeous?
I adored that both of Alexia’s parents walked her down the aisle.
Jonathan was excited to see her!
St. John the Evangelist is one of the most breathtaking churches in downtown Cleveland. I love working here!
The kiss!
My favorite things to capture during a wedding ceremony isn’t the BIG moments but the little ones like this where smiles happen between the big moments.
It’s official! Also I loved Alexia’s lace edged sleeves she donned for the ceremony.
Our first stop after the ceremony was the popular East 4th Street. It wasn’t too busy of a day so we didn’t have a lot of crowds to work against.
I adore the classic look of this bridal party all in black and white!
The ring bearer makes this image. He’s so adorable!
I adored how all of the bridesmaids were in different styles of black lace gowns. The white bouquets really popped against the dresses.
How adorable are these two?
Our next stop was the super popular jackknife bridge next to Shooters. I’m SO glad the ivy has held in, often by this time of the year it’s all dead and brown.
One of my favorites from the day!
I really loved this casual shot of the guys without their coats. In the summer especially it’s nice to get the coats off so the guys aren’t sweaty messes!
Grover came to meet us at Heritage Park (the west bank side) and he was wearing a tux. I think he was just as happy to see his humans as they were to see their dog!
By far my favorite from the day. Everyone looks so happy, even Grover!
Grover even poses. May be one of my favorite pets ever for portraits!
I loved the way this image showed off Alexia’s gorgeous lace gown!
We headed off to Cleveland Public Theater and the toasts started after the introductions.
Alexia’s Dad gave one of my favorite Father of the Bride toasts ever. He nailed it.
Her sister’s toast was also perfection. I also love the way the lights looked behind the bridal party on stage!
The Best Man finished it up with a perfect toast that had everyone laughing and crying.
Their first dance was perfection!
My favorite dance of the night though was the Father/Daughter dance. They started off slow then the music switched and they busted out into a salsa. It was amazing and I LOVED how Alexia’s dress swirled with the music.
While Jonathan and his Mom’s dance wasn’t nearly as exciting, it was just as beautiful.
I played with the rings during some downtime during the reception and thought Alexia’s shoes would be fun for a backdrop and they worked perfectly.
This bouquet toss image is one of my favorites ever.
At the end of the night they had a sparkler exit which was so fun!
