Devin + Heidi 08.30.08

Devin and Heidi were SUCH a great couple to work with.  Heidi and I instantly clicked when she booked with me and ever since we’ve been constantly chatting together.  Perhaps it was the mutal love for the New Kids on the Block that did it?  Who knows but I’m so glad to have met Heidi!  To make the wedding even more of a joy to shoot, Heidi and Devin are so amazingly perfect together.  You can tell within minutes of meeting them that they complete each other and are a perfect match.   Their devotion and love is so insanely easy to capture.  I felt so honored to share a part in their amazing weekend.   Thank you both for everything!!!

Heidi has started her own DOC business which I think she is perfectly suited for.  Due to her hard work and killer organizational skills, she had not ONE thing go wrong on her wedding day.  I can tell you from shooting many, many weddings that it is rare that you have a day that stuck to a time schedule and not a single thing went wrong at.  If you are looking for a DOC, please check out her new blog at Heidzillas.

Of course pictures are below… enjoy!!

I started the day off with Heidi and her girls at the salon.  In a rare occurence, Heidi got done before everyone else so she spent her extra time visiting her bridesmaids before her makeup got done.

I love Heidi’s idea for her something blue!

As I was taking shots with the girls, my second shooter Catherine McKinley, was over with the boys and got some shots of Devin getting ready.

Heidi’s Mom lends a hand to help get Heidi in her dress.

On the way to the ceremony, Heidi snapped a quick self-portrait for her friends on The Knot.

I had a few moments before the boys headed over for some shots with the girls.  They were so much fun!

I also got some bridal portraits in a weird alcove near the bridal room.

This was the ONLY shot of the day Heidi really wanted – one of her Daddy waiting patiently for her.

Grace took her petal throwing job seriously.

Catherine took this gorgeous shot of the ceremony in the gardens…

…while I ran back and got the shot of the ceremony through the elaborate gate/door.

Instead of having a grand exit, Devin and Heidi had the guests throw rice as they were leaving the altar.  I LOVED THIS!  I hope more brides use this idea!  Also notice the maid of honor wiping away a tear… awww!

I really love this shot of the Baumgart men!

A fun shot with the groomsman!

I think this is my favorite shot from the day.

Heidi had this sign so she could use this image for shots for her thank you cards, great idea!

While I was taking formal shots, Catherine was back at the Wyndham getting detail shots of the reception before the guests got in and mucked it all up!  Heidi and her florist did an amazing job designing the details for the tables!

The cake was SO good and simple but beautiful.  It tasted like unmelted vanilla ice cream!

I love this look between them during the toast.

…and another love filled look!

A detail shot of Heidi’s amazing bouquet.

One of Heidi’s many DIY projects with her rings in there… because who doesn’t wish for their kind of love?

Catherine got a lovely shot of the first dance.

Heidi and her Dad were so sweet together!

Another wonderful moment thanks to my second shooter Catherine!

The amazing couple ended their night by dancing the night away to some tunes from their phenominal band.
