Oh how much I loved photographing Amanda and Matt’s wedding on Matt’s family farm in Ohio. We had so much fun at their engagement session the fall prior. They were both SO happy and just a joy to be around.
Their wedding day was such a beautiful day and I was SO glad the weather held out since it was planned for the outdoors! In Ohio you just never know what you’ll get, especially in September. The skies were blue, the sun was shining and it was a picture perfect day.
I started my day out with Amanda and the girls while my amazing second, Andrew hung with the guys. Amanda’s amazing Dad made the octagon ceremony arch and I was able to use it for photos of her dress. For fun I was able to put all the dresses of the girls including the moms and flower girls on the cow pen that was set up near the ceremony.
We did a first look with Amanda and her Dad before moving to the first look between Amanda and Matt. As she was walking up and he did a little dance to break the tension and it was great. We were able to do a lot of portraits before the wedding which meant that their guests didn’t have to wait too long after the ceremony.
Their ceremony was perfect with lots of smiles and (happy!) tears. Even my own. I LOVE WEDDINGS OKAY?!? Seriously though, these two are just so sweet. I loved being able to document their relationship and love story since it’s such a good one! These two just lit up every time they connected with each other by touch or look and it was a joy to work with them.
This wedding also brought me an additional gift. Amanda’s Dad is an electrician and so was my Dad. I found out they worked for the same company so I asked if he knew him (my Dad passed away 15 years ago) he knew of him but didn’t know him. Later though at the reception his brother, Amanda’s Uncle, who is also an electrician, came up to me. It turns out that he was an apprentice under my Dad and told me a few stories about working under my Dad and how much he appreciated my Dad helping him in his career. It was such an unexpected gift!
Thank you all so much for being so much fun to work with!
Enjoy the most photos I’ve EVER blogged for a wedding!
