• I have to start off with a huge thanks to this client. When we first met my sister-in-law was in the hospital with complications from metastatic breast cancer and everything was pretty much crazy. They were so understanding and forgiving of my somewhat scattered brain during our meeting. Life happens and they were so kind and wonderful about everything.
• Onto happier things!! Can I rave a moment about these bridesmaid dresses? I absolutely adore Shabby Apple’s dresses and when Maggie told me that is where all of her dresses were from I did a bit of a happy dance! So awesome!
• I have to mention the insane winds that were going on that day. Wow. Everyone’s dresses were blowing up and dirt was flying in my eyes. Thank god I wasn’t on a ferry!
• This by far is one of my shortest shooting days I’ve had for a wedding in a long time but everything was covered which was kind of awesome. I started at 11:30PM with Maggie arriving at the church and ended at 5:00PM when they left their reception! I must confess that I wasn’t quite sure what to do with myself when I got home at 6 and it was still DAYLIGHT!
• This wedding also was a perfect example of why you should hire a professional photographer. During formals my camera made a grinding noise and had an issue with the shutter. Not a problem since I have a backup of the same camera! I switched cameras and went on with my day. If they had gone with a friend with a fancy camera or a photographer that didn’t have a backup (sadly there are many of those around) it could have turned into a cautionary tale really quickly. Future brides and grooms – make sure that whomever you hire has a backup of EVERYTHING – flashes, lenses and cameras. You never know what may happen!

I have to say that St John the Evangelist is one of the prettiest churches in Cleveland!
Maggie arrived and opted to wait to have her veil put on until after she got to the church due to the high winds.
I love this image of Maggie and her father walking down the aisle.
The church doesn’t have crazy restrictive rules (YAY!) so I was able to get images of them during the ceremony 🙂
After the ceremony we headed over to Superior Viaduct for some images. I loved the way that Maggie’s veil wrapped around her in the wind.
My favorite image from the day!
The Superior Viaduct is such a great place for a skyline shot. The bonus was that it was steps from their reception venue.
I love this image of Maggie and her bridesmaid, so sweet!
The groomsman requested a jumping shot, the expressions are priceless.
This is one of my favorite groomsman pictures ever.
One last bridal party shot on the viaduct!
After the entrance Dan’s brother gave a funny and sweet toast to the new couple.
The first dance after dinner was lovely.
After the reception got rolling and everyone was killing it on the dance floor I took some time to get images of the wedding rings. Maggie made her own bouquets for the wedding so I definitely wanted to get an image of it with the rings.
In lieu of a traditional guestbook, Dan and Maggie had postcards with various classic books on the front. They asked their guests to write notes and words of encouragement and advice for their marriage on them for the future. I love, love, loved this idea and made sure to get at least a few images of their rings with them as well.
Thank you both for having me with you on your special day!

Corey, you did an amazing job!!!! Thank you so much for contributing your art to capture our wedding day. We were so lucky to have your talent available to us. 🙂 Ditto on the need to hire a true pro… especially on a CRAZY wind day like Oct 15!
You guys were seriously so wonderful to work with and I was blessed to have you as clients, you were a joy to work with! Crazy winds indeed but at least it worked with us, I adored the images with the winds 🙂
Congratulations again!
