\"Secrest<\/p>\n

About two months ago I started this blog post fully intending to have it go live long before their first anniversary.\u00a0 Then my brother in law had a medical issue and open heart surgery during a pandemic and well, it’s been a helluva spring.\u00a0 I took a bit of a step back from the ‘busy work’ of my job to handle all of the fun things that happen when a pandemic hits just as wedding season gets underway.\u00a0 So I’m back, my BIL is doing great and I’ve got a pretty good system on handling 2020 couples that are wanting to shift dates.\u00a0 Whew!\u00a0 So, let’s fly back to a year ago today.\u00a0 When it wasn’t SNOWING like it is right now as I type this.<\/p>\n

Emma and Cory got married on a STUNNING spring day at Secrest Arboretum.\u00a0 I hadn’t been there since Amber and Andrew got married there long before the tornado (and got to smoosh in a quick maternity session with them after this wedding there, so perfect).\u00a0 The flowers were all blooming, it was warm and SO sunny.\u00a0 They’ve made so many beautiful changes to the arboretum since my last visit and the area where they hold wedding ceremonies is absolutely stunning!<\/p>\n

I can’t believe it took over 10 years to get there but Cory was the FIRST Cory I’ve had as a client!\u00a0 Later in 2019 I had another Cory (and will have another one this year) so it seems that the Corey\/Cory draught is finally over!\u00a0 LOL!<\/p>\n

One thing I really loved about Emma and Cory’s wedding is that it was a simple but lovely wedding.\u00a0 While they did have a reception, it wasn’t full of formalities and instead was a casual afternoon with loved ones and great food.\u00a0 The guests all seemed to enjoy themselves – especially all the kiddos who had a blast running around together.\u00a0 The younger ones stayed inside at Quailcrest Farm while the older kids were outside playing with the games set up and running in the fields nearby.\u00a0 It was the most perfect Ohio wedding!<\/p>\n

Thank you both so much for trusting me to capture your wedding day!\u00a0 I hope that your first anniversary is a wonderful day!<\/p>\n

I started my day out peacefully at the gardens which I had mostly to myself to document before people arrived.<\/p>\n

Cory arrived with his guys a bit before the ceremony so we could get photos and they were such a great group of guys!<\/p>\n

Soon enough Cory was secreted away and Emma arrived.\u00a0 I couldn’t resist this beautiful bench beneath the flowering trees.<\/p>\n

One last portrait of the beautiful engagement ring alone before adding the wedding band!<\/p>\n

This wee lad was absolutely ADORABLE!<\/p>\n

We also did some portraits with the ladies.\u00a0 I loved the tulip bouquets!<\/p>\n

Before we knew it it was time to get them married!\u00a0 Such a lovely entrance for Emma and her father!<\/p>\n

See what I mean?\u00a0 It was a perfect Spring Day!<\/p>\n

A friend of theirs married them and it was such a personalized and perfect ceremony!<\/p>\n

One of my favorite ‘we are married’ photos after the ceremony ever!<\/p>\n

After the family photos were finished we had about 10 minutes to squeeze in the portraits for them and we made the best of the time we had together before they headed over to their reception.<\/p>\n

I loved this little tree shaded nook near the ceremony site!<\/p>\n

Seriously these two were so lovely and in love!<\/p>\n

Soon enough we were off to Quailcrest Farm where they were having their reception – how perfect is their cake?<\/p>\n

This cutie pie was too adorable for words!<\/p>\n

Once they arrived they cut the cake and it was perfect!<\/p>\n

\"Wedding<\/p>\n

I may always urge my clients to kiss after cutting the cake and photos like this is why – it’s always one of my favorites from the day.<\/p>\n

Grandmas and their grandbabies are always one of my favorite things to document!<\/p>\n

Such a sweet moment between them!<\/p>\n

Before long it was time for them to head off and start their journey as husband and wife!<\/p>\n
