{"id":1200,"date":"2010-10-08T20:33:07","date_gmt":"2010-10-09T00:33:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/?p=1200"},"modified":"2011-11-04T11:15:56","modified_gmt":"2011-11-04T15:15:56","slug":"destination-wedding-h-j-punta-cana-dominican-republic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/destinationwedding\/destination-wedding-h-j-punta-cana-dominican-republic","title":{"rendered":"Destination Wedding | H + J | Punta Cana, Dominican Republic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u2022 Last March I got to second shoot for the always amazing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anneruthmann.com\/#\">Anne Ruthmann<\/a> for H + J (two SERIOUSLY awesome people) at the gorgeous <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paradisuspalmareal.com\/\">Paradisus Palma Real<\/a>.   I am SO super excited to finally be able to blog this wedding!<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 This resort is made for relaxation but more importantly for weddings.  I <a href=\"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/2010\/03\/punta-cana\/\">blogged some pictures<\/a> of the resort images when I returned if you want to drool a bit!  Their ceremony was between two palm trees just a bit in from the ocean and the reception took place on the sand as well.  It was perfect.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 H + J are seriously an amazing couple.  Back home they are super busy with their business so they were really enjoying being able to be away and enjoy time with family and friends &#8211; whom came from literally all over the world.  They were crazy accommodating and made me feel like a guest and not a vendor.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Wedding days are notorious for having at least one oops (or more) but their day was literally perfect.  Perfect weather, perfect day and perfect celebration.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 They danced up and down the aisle, had a killer DJ (who was also a groomsman!) and ended the night with fireworks &#8211; that&#8217;s how awesome they are!<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Thanks SO much to Anne for having me along and to H + J for just being plain awesome!!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-1.jpg\" alt=\"beach ceremony set up at paradisus palma real in punta cana\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The gorgeous setting for the ceremony. \u00a0Be still my beach loving heart!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-2.jpg\" alt=\"groom playing music before wedding at paradisus palma real\" width=\"599\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I got to play with H while Anne stayed with the girls. \u00a0In the welcome basket H + J included a CD of tunes to get people in the wedding mood and there was actually a song on there that was wrote for the wedding! \u00a0It was constantly on rotation in our room because it was really just plain awesome and I was stoked to see H was jammin to it when I arrived!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-3.jpg\" alt=\"groom holding johnny walker blue\" width=\"599\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Before Punta Cana, I didn&#8217;t know what Johnny Walker Blue Label was. \u00a0Sad but true. \u00a0This is how H greeted his groomsman when they came to the room the day of the wedding. \u00a0Now that&#8217;s a way to start a wedding!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I&#8217;m also going to always be grateful to H + J as we toasted our last night there with Blue. \u00a0I told you they were pretty much all out awesome!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-4.jpg\" alt=\"groom pouring shots of johnny walker blue\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">You know I am about details&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-5.jpg\" alt=\"bridal party kick line processional on beach at paradisus palma real in punta cana\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This is my favorite processional EVER!!! \u00a0The bridal party, H AND his Mom did a kick line up to the aisle, then danced down the aisle to &#8220;I Gotta Feelin&#8221; by the Black Eyed Peas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Love.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-6.jpg\" alt=\"bride walking down the aisle on the beach\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">J was escorted down the aisle by her Mom and everyone was left breathless.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-7.jpg\" alt=\"bride and groom laughing during ring exchange on the beach in punta cana\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The ceremony was beautiful but not without a few moments of giggles when H forgot his words more than once.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-8.jpg\" alt=\"guests of paradisus watching the wedding ceremony at paradisus palma real\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It&#8217;s not a destination wedding until someone in a Speedo is watching!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-9.jpg\" alt=\"bridal party grabbing guests and dancing down the aisle in the dominican republic\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">During the rehearsal the day before they weren&#8217;t quite sure how to process down the aisle but knew they didn&#8217;t want to just walk. \u00a0I suggested they grab guests and dance down the aisle with them &#8211; inspired of course by one of my favorite movies Dirty Dancing! \u00a0The suggestion was a hit and the guests loved it too!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-10.jpg\" alt=\"bride and bridesmaids laughing on the beach\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We did some casual portraits on the beach after the ceremony and the girls were having a blast. \u00a0PS &#8211; aren&#8217;t their yellow dresses PERFECT for a beach wedding??<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-11.jpg\" alt=\"bride biting groom's boutonniere on beach in punta cana\" width=\"599\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I laughed so hard when this happened and again when I saw it when editing. \u00a0This is H + J, serious but still able to have fun!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-12.jpg\" alt=\"bride and groom posing at paradisus palma real in punta cana\" width=\"599\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I could have shot at this resort for hours on end!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-13.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I got to pose them for this &#8211; I bet you are all surprised this is what a came up with&#8230; it&#8217;s becoming a Corey Standard. \u00a0Too bad they were sitting on a plastic cover which shifted and right after this shot they fell off. \u00a0The good thing is they laughed so hard it created some more fun images \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-14.jpg\" alt=\"bride and groom kissing at reception on the beach at the paradisus\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Their guests were BIG fans of them kissing and dinged their silverware on the glasses on the tables often.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-15.jpg\" alt=\"bride shoving plate of cake in groom's face in punta cana\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">H started to miss J&#8217;s mouth so she decided to one-up that and shove the whole plate in his face. \u00a0HILARIOUS!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-16.jpg\" alt=\"bride and groom dancing on the beach during reception at paradisus palma real\" width=\"599\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The lighting on the dance floor was superb and such fun to play with.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/hjw-17.jpg\" alt=\"bride and groom silhouettes by the pool at night\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">After all the guests left we played a bit more with H + J. \u00a0Anne set up this shot and I got the wide angle while she was focusing a bit closer in. \u00a0To see more of the fun night shots, check out <a href=\"http:\/\/anneruthmann.blogspot.com\/2010\/09\/sexy-on-beach.html\" target=\"_blank\">Anne&#8217;s blog<\/a> from the session.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2022 Last March I got to second shoot for the always amazing Anne Ruthmann for H + J (two SERIOUSLY awesome people) at the gorgeous Paradisus Palma Real.
