through before but I didn’t stop and explore the area. So it was really nice to actually SEE the state and do a bit of exploring. The funny thing is though, whenever I asked around what to see or do in the state, I kept getting replies of things to see in ANOTHER state. Namely go to NYC. I’ve been to NYC quite a few times (and will be returning next year for my first wedding there, yay!) so I decided to stick closer to home base in Windsor and explore the area.

The first day I shopped until I dropped. Oops. Being in Ohio – especially not a very affluent area of Ohio – we don’t have a lot of the fancy stores others have, namely Tiffany. I think the closest one (and the only one in Ohio?) is in Cincinnati. I was elated to be near one so I could replace a starfish necklace that went missing that my husband bought me a few years ago that I loved. I got the last one they had and I did a happy dance in the store. Yes, I did a happy dance in Tiffany. The clerk was awesome and she did a shimmy too for me. Needless to say I was happy.

The second day my friend Gianina came in and we went and did what we always do – go see covered bridges. As with our outing last year, the weather wasn’t so great. Terrible in fact. However at least the rain held off for part of the day and I’m thankful for that. However once the rain started it started and holy cow. It’s been a long time since I’ve been that soaked fully dressed. We still had a good day and despite driving over 3 hours to two bridges that we weren’t able to even take pictures of (one was dismantled to be refurbished and one was on a park that was closed).

<img fetchpriority="high" way, we decided to head up to the falls to check them out closer. However, it started to rain, and rain hard, when we got closer. Neither of us had a raincoat or an umbrella. We decided by the time we were to this point that heck, we were already soaked, we may as well walk to the top. So we did. I ended up having to take off my shoes (flip flops aren’t meant for hiking in the rain) and rolling up my pant legs. Quite classy I say! But I didn’t fall!

<p style="text-align:
