| Connecticut and Rhode Island"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After <a title=\"Destination Wedding | Scott and Kimberly | Windsor, CT\" href=\"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/2011\/10\/destination-wedding-scott-and-kimberly-windsor-ct\/\">Kim&#8217;s wedding<\/a> I had another day and a half to explore the area and I made sure to do just that! \u00a0Sunday Gianina and I headed out east for the fabled land of Rhode Island. \u00a0I can&#8217;t recall but I&#8217;m about \u00a090% sure that I had never been there before (I may have driven through it but I don&#8217;t THINK I did lol) and I have to say I was quite charmed. \u00a0Sunday was the lighthouse day and we started out the furthest away from our hotel and worked our way back. \u00a0All week they had been calling for all sorts of different weather &#8211; up until the trip it was supposed to be sunny and 80\u00ba, then they changed it to rainy and 70\u00ba which made us cancel our original plans to go to Block Island. \u00a0However the day of ended up being sunny and 80\u00ba despite them calling for rain all day. \u00a0Crazy weather!<\/p>\n<p>We started the day out all the way in Newport, Rhode Island and I was totally charmed by this city. \u00a0I wish that I had researched the town a bit more before going as it was completely adorable and chock full of history. \u00a0We worked our way back east along the coast from there visiting Jamestown and Point Judith before going back to the hotel. \u00a0Gianina left from there to head home and I curled up with my kindle and had a lovely night.<\/p>\n<p>The next day I met up with another &#8220;Joe&#8221; friend Cheri and her adorable daughter Scotland and had a YUMMY breakfast at Perk on Main (HIGHLY recommend it, delicious crepe!) and then headed out to Stonington. \u00a0I wish so much I had more time to explore that city, it was adorable and so quaint. \u00a0I vow to return someday! \u00a0I then finished off the exploring with the city EVERYONE said I had to go to, Mystic. \u00a0It was super cute but really, really crowded. \u00a0There was also a ton of construction which killed that &#8220;historic&#8221; thing but I&#8217;d like to give it a second chance someday.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy the pics from the rest of the trip!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img Rhode Island\" width=\"900\" height=\"598\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Our first stop was in Newport at the Newport Harbor Lighthouse which is located on the grounds of the Hyatt Regency Newport.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Newport Harbor Lighthouse in Newport RI\" center;\">How fun to find a wedding ceremony set up at the lighthouse! \u00a0I am guessing it was for the day before. \u00a0I am hoping someone brings me back someday to photograph a wedding Beavertail Lighthouse in Beavertail State Park.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"text-align: center;\">The area surrounding the lighthouse was so beautiful. \u00a0Amazing cliffs! \u00a0People were everywhere lounging and\u00a0picnicking on the rocks and it was amazing. \u00a0I was kind of jealous I must admit &#8211; I wanted to be dining with them!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"900\" height=\"598\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Not too far from Beavertail we went to Fort Getty which gave us a view of the Dutch Island Lighthouse just a bit offshore in Rhode Island.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Surfing at Point Judith in Rhode style=\"text-align: center;\">The next day I headed out to the Mystic region and my first stop was in Stonington, CT. \u00a0SUCH a cute area! \u00a0I started off at the beach where this Queen&#8217;s Anne&#8217;s Lace was along the shoreline.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"old
