{"id":2125,"date":"2011-10-14T14:05:40","date_gmt":"2011-10-14T18:05:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/?p=2125"},"modified":"2011-10-14T14:05:40","modified_gmt":"2011-10-14T18:05:40","slug":"engaged-rick-and-rebecca-kelleys-island","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/engagement\/engaged-rick-and-rebecca-kelleys-island","title":{"rendered":"Engaged | Rick and Rebecca | Kelleys Island"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u2022 \u00a0Rebecca and Rick came to me via recommendation from <a title=\"Married: Jessica and Larry 08.29.09\" href=\"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/2009\/09\/married-jessica-and-larry-08-29-09\/\">Jessica and Larry<\/a>. \u00a0It made me do a happy dance since I loved their wedding a lot!<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u00a0This was my first trip to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kelleysisland.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kelley&#8217;s Island<\/a>! \u00a0I&#8217;ve always meant to go but never have made it over when I&#8217;m in Port Clinton for the week. \u00a0I am going to have to return someday because the island is so charming!<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u00a0This day may go down as one of the scariest days in my life. \u00a0We kept debating on the session as the weather was not the greatest but in the end the day was dry and while it was a tad windy we decided to go for it. \u00a0Well. \u00a0Little did I know that Lake Erie was a mess. \u00a0The waves were insane. \u00a0I don&#8217;t live on the lake but I do see it a fair bit and this is the craziest waves I&#8217;ve ever seen on the lake &#8211; they were ocean sized!!! \u00a0Which made for a very scary ferry ride. \u00a0I don&#8217;t scare easily but I was pretty much petrified on the ride over. \u00a0The waves were coming up over the sides of the boat and the nose kept diving down and water would spill over the front. \u00a0Keep in mind the front of the boat was a good 6 feet or so high at least. \u00a0I had one hand on the door handle and was madly texting my husband with the other telling him that I loved him in case I went down. \u00a0Yeah, a bit of a flair for the dramatic but I&#8217;m telling you &#8211; that was a ride to remember. \u00a0Thank goodness I don&#8217;t get seasick. \u00a0I was tempted to kiss the ground when I got to the island \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u00a0Once I stopped shaking I hopped in the car with Rebecca and Rick and we headed off for a super fun engagement session. \u00a0We started off at the cliffs where they got engaged on the north end of the island&#8230; which were getting POUNDED by waves so we had to adjust the original idea a bit. \u00a0We then headed off for the winery &#8211; which land was owned by Rick&#8217;s family for years &#8211; where we ran into <a title=\"Destination Wedding |\u00a0Christi and Eric | Carova, NC\" href=\"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/2011\/06\/destination-wedding-%e2%80%a2%c2%a0christi-and-eric-%e2%80%a2-carova-nc\/\">past bridesmaid Jessica<\/a> who works there. \u00a0How ironic is that!? \u00a0We then took a spin around the island and took more pictures in various photographic locations before I headed back to the ferry to go home.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u00a0I was very happy to find out that the waves had calmed down for my boat ride back and I got to see a really glorious sunset en route. \u00a0Oh and the rain started just after we ended our session!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Rick and Rebecca's Engagement Session\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.com\/rre-1.jpg\" alt=\"engagement portrait on north end of kelleys island\" width=\"598\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Due to the crazy winds and waves we couldn&#8217;t get a picture of them out on the cliffs they got engaged at without them getting soaked so we had to settle for a picture a few feet in. \u00a0This is also the same location that Rick&#8217;s parents got engaged &#8211; awwww right?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Rick and Rebecca's Engagement Session\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.com\/rre-2.jpg\" alt=\"engagement picture at kelleys island winery\" width=\"900\" height=\"598\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This house, on the ground of the winery, is where Rick&#8217;s Grandfather lived. \u00a0Isn&#8217;t it cute?
