\u00a0Looking for some ideas that won&#8217;t be the standard &#8216;pretty picture in a park&#8217; pictures? \u00a0Here are some ideas to give your engagement session the extra bump it needs to be fabulous!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Incorporate props<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the easiest ways to give your engagement session a little more flair is to bring some props that will give the pictures &#8211; even if it is used for just a few &#8211; a bit more pop and personality. \u00a0Here are just a few ideas to get you started!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Either of you play an instrument? \u00a0Bring the instrument along and stage a faux concert together!<\/li>\n<li>Hats are a quick and fun way to change your look and add some fun without changing clothing.<\/li>\n<li>Balloons (one big or lots of little ones) are becoming very popular in engagement shoots for that extra fun factor. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/engaged-kristin-and-jacob\/\">Kristin and Jacob<\/a> used a VERY large balloon in theirs and I loved it!<\/li>\n<li>Make signs and hold them up. \u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/engaged-kristin-and-jacob\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kristin and Jacob<\/a> also utilized this idea.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize the engagement shoot to make table numbers for your wedding and hold up the various numbers. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/2009\/04\/engaged-joe-and-codi\/\" target=\"_blank\">Codi and Joe<\/a> did this and it was really fun and unique!<\/li>\n<li>Have a favorite book? \u00a0Bring it along!<\/li>\n<li>Have a pet? \u00a0Have a family friend bring the pet to the shoot for some quick pictures with you. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/2009\/07\/engaged-jessica-and-larry\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jessica and Larry<\/a> had a family member bring their dog out for a few quick pictures at the beginning of their shoot.<\/li>\n<li>Old cameras. \u00a0Are you budding photographers? \u00a0Bring your cameras along or better yet bring old cameras to the shoto!<\/li>\n<li>Shoes. \u00a0You know I had to go here. \u00a0Got some fabulous shoes? \u00a0BRING THEM!<\/li>\n<li>Flowers are simple but easy props to bring into the engagement session.<\/li>\n<li>Are you wine drinkers? \u00a0Bring your favorite bottle and share it for pictures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Themes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another fun way to personalize your engagement shoot is to come up with a theme that fits your relationship.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Decades are always good fun &#8211; pick one that suits you best and roll with it incorporating location, clothing and styles.<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;Old Hollywood&#8217; is a theme that has been very popular on the blogs lately.<\/li>\n<li>Have a favorite movie? \u00a0Reinact the movie in your engagement session!<\/li>\n<li>Numbers. \u00a0Make all of your locations have numbers that represent dates that are important to you.<\/li>\n<li>Family. \u00a0Go to family farms, old homes etc. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/engaged-cathy-brandon\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cathy and Brandon <\/a>did their engagement shoot at Cathy&#8217;s Aunt&#8217;s farm and we went to all of their favorite spots on the farm.<\/li>\n<li>A good cause! \u00a0 Some couples have taken pictures in pink and used the images at each setting with a note that they donated the cost of the favor for breast cancer research.<\/li>\n<li>Have (or stage) a picnic!! \u00a0Bring a basket (or let me know if you&#8217;re doing the session with me as I have a picnic basket) and blanket and set up a picnic in a park.<\/li>\n<li>Are you guys earth friendly? \u00a0Theme your engagement session around the idea of recycling and being earth friendly.<\/li>\n<li>Have me shoot the actual proposal! \u00a0While not quite a theme there will definitely be a &#8216;we just got engaged&#8217; vibe no matter where the location, like <a href=\"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/2009\/11\/engaged-chaz-and-lauren\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chaz and Lauren<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Quirky Locations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Get out of the park and off the beach and find some locations that are really unique. \u00a0Go to places that are important to you or fits your personalities and your engagement session will immediately have meaning beyond &#8216;a pretty park.&#8217;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Location of your first date. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/2008\/12\/engaged-craig-and-deanna\/\">Craig and Deanna<\/a> did this and it brought extra special smile and loves into the session as they told me all about their first date while we were there.<\/li>\n<li>Location where you got engaged.<\/li>\n<li>Location where you met.<\/li>\n<li>Bowling Alley.<\/li>\n<li>Arcade.<\/li>\n<li>Ice Cream Shop.<\/li>\n<li>Amusement Park.<\/li>\n<li>Local Fair.<\/li>\n<li>Planetarium.<\/li>\n<li>Museum.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Want an engagement session with a bit more pizazz?
