{"id":999,"date":"2010-03-29T00:44:05","date_gmt":"2010-03-29T04:44:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/?p=999"},"modified":"2011-09-07T20:27:52","modified_gmt":"2011-09-08T00:27:52","slug":"punta-cana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coreyann.com\/blog\/destinationwedding\/punta-cana","title":{"rendered":"Punta Cana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week I was in Punta Cana second shooting a destination wedding for my friend <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anneruthmann.com\" target=\"_blank\">Anne Ruthmann<\/a>. \u00a0The wedding was simply put, amazing. \u00a0The details that the bride and groom put into the wedding were astounding! \u00a0Not only did they make sure that their guests (just under 70 people made the trip, coming as far as from Korea!) were taken care of, they also made sure to plan a wedding that would be unforgettable. \u00a0I can&#8217;t wait to show you the images from the wedding, I still smile thinking of the day. \u00a0THEY DANCED UP (AND DOWN) THE AISLE! \u00a0FIREWORKS! \u00a0RECEPTION ON THE BEACH! \u00a0Ahh! \u00a0I&#8217;m still in a bit of wedding awesome overload from the wedding. \u00a0Since I can&#8217;t show the images from the wedding day until Anne posts them (look for mine after hers though, probably this summer!) I figured I&#8217;d share a bit of the paradise that the couple chose for their wedding, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paradisuspalmareal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Paradisus Palma Real <\/a>resort in Punta Cana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/tpc-1.jpg\" alt=\"beach in punta cana at paradisus palma real\" width=\"598\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I love the tiny waves in Punta Cana, they seem alien to me since I&#8217;m used to the big waves in the Outer Banks. \u00a0The water is such a beautiful aqua here!  The sand here is also so wonderful, very silky!!  Usually I love sand for about 5 minutes and then when the grit doesn&#8217;t go away I hate it.  Here the sand was more fine and sugary and didn&#8217;t bother me as much.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/tpc-2.jpg\" alt=\"view of the coastline in punta cana\" width=\"598\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Just another day in paradise! \u00a0I could get used to this view&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" on the other side of the island (Haiti&#8217;s side) but the clouds still turned some beautiful vibrant colors at sunset!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/tpc-4.jpg\" alt=\"night lighting at paradisus palma real\" width=\"900\" height=\"598\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">At night the resort had some really creative and beautiful ways to light everything. \u00a0My favorite were these candles around the buffet dining area. \u00a0There&#8217;s something cozy and calming about candlelight, especially on a beach.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/tpc-5.jpg\" alt=\"courtyard at paradisus palma real\" width=\"900\" height=\"598\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This is the main courtyard of the hotel, isn&#8217;t it beautiful??<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coreyann.net\/tpc-6.jpg\" alt=\"pool at paradisus palma real\" width=\"598\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The \u00a0pool here has to be one of the top pools I&#8217;ve ever been in. \u00a0While it&#8217;s hard to top the Hyatt in Maui&#8217;s pools, this comes close with the awesome lounge chairs in the water. \u00a0Underneath the hut, there is a lounge chair (complete with tables for your drinks!) that&#8217;s just a smidge under water to keep you cool. \u00a0They were around all of the edges of the pool, some in the sun, some under huts. \u00a0I LOVED these. \u00a0I&#8217;m happy to report that I did get to relax on one during my stay. \u00a0It&#8217;s harder to stay on these suckers than you think though.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" the ocean and dining area. \u00a0The huts on the beach were for the exclusive area and they had mattresses underneath them. \u00a0Our first day we took a nap on them (not knowing we were in the exclusive area of the resort, oops) and I have to say that they were really comfortable and relaxing!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img style=\"text-align: center;\">I love palm trees. \u00a0This is the view towards the south from the wedding ceremony area. \u00a0Nothing but a sea of palm trees!!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:
