Brides Talk: Heidi

Almost from the first exchange of emails, I knew Heidi was a kindred spirit (could have something to do with a mutual love of the New Kids On the Block when we were kids…). We instantly hit it off and became friends even though we never met in person – if you know Heidi you know what I’m talking about!!! I was so excited to meet her and the man lucky enough to spend his life with such a great person. Heidi is by far the most organized bride I have ever seen in my life – she came with her own Excel SPREADSHEETS! It was so awesome from my end even though her bridesmaids teased her. It worked out though because her wedding was perfect – and never off schedule for a single moment. THAT is very rare!!! So it’s only perfect that she’s chosen to do Wedding Planning in her post-bridal career. All future brides, I highly recommend stopping by her site, Heidzillas and considering a Day-of-Coordinator. That was my personal best decision for my wedding and I know many girls feel the same way. I am so lucky to have been able to photograph Heidi and Devin’s wedding and to call her a friend (even if she doesn’t want to call me a friend to her hairdresser *wink*). Love ya Heidi (and Devin!)!

Heidi Talks

I had engagement photos taken by another photographer that I didn’t like. With less than 5 months before my wedding, I went on the search for a new photog and lucked out when I heard about Corey Ann on The Knot. I instantly connected with her work as soon as I saw her Web site. I fell IN LOVE with her style. What really sold me was her blues, my favorite color. I was also so impressed with the details and moments she captures.

Before our wedding, Corey and I corresponded a lot of how my wedding was shaping up and the things that were really important to me. She took the time to get a feel for what I liked and didn’t like and never pressured me into any set way of doing things. She shoot us as us. Our photos reflect who we are so much, and not in canned poses that wedding photographers use week after week.

We never met Corey in person until our rehearsal ceremony, but she is one of those people who you feel like you’ve known forever. We had a blast with her and were so comfortable with her… and if you don’t believe us, look at our faces! Our friends and family were at ease with her, too. The unpressured style of shooting our wedding was the main reason everyone came through in our photos exactly as themselves. There are so many photos where I’ve thought “That is SO her/him!” or “Wow I didn’t even SEE her, how did she get this?”

I couldn’t have been happier with the photos Corey took – and edited so quickly!! The special moments, the great details… I got exactly what I wanted from my photos – and I gained a great friend along the way! Other than maybe her husband, I’d like to think of myself as Corey’s #1 FAN!

Here are the images that Heidi has chosen and her commentary to go with them!

I did make it back to get my lonely piece of cake.
