At the end of August I escaped with friends to New England for a few days (eventually I’ll blog about that and many other trips!) and it was lovely to have a break. I even got to mark ‘going in the ocean in Maine’ off my bucket list as I’m always there when it is way too cold to go swimming. When I came back I had one of the busiest weeks waiting for me – 3 weddings in a row – kicking it off with Bonnie and Lee up in Geneva-on-the-Lake.
I adore The Lakehouse Inn & Winery! I was there last year with Deniece and Russell and I was really excited to return. They have such a great spot on the lake and the landscaping is gorgeous! This was the first time I got to peep into one of their rooms when I went to greet Bonnie and it was adorable. I definitely recommend a visit or stay here!
Bonnie and Lee were SO wonderful to work with! Their families were also quite nice and it was fun watching all of the kids run around and play. It was so crazy humid and hot the day of their wedding – I wasn’t sure what I’d find because generally no one is happy when they’re dripping with sweat (and especially when they are in wedding clothes AND it’s that hot!). However they just laughed off the ridiculous heat and went with it. Luckily a front moved through (without rain!) just before dinner and cooled things down quite a bit.
Thank you both for trusting me with your day!
This is the view of Lake Erie from where they got married – beautiful!
How fun are these lanterns that lined the steps to the ceremony?
I loved how this flower girl was impatiently waiting for the ceremony to start.
She kept running back and forth between the ceremony area and where Bonnie was waiting with her Dad to see if they were ready yet.
It was time!
Can you tell how happy Lee was?
Such a perfect setting for a wedding on Lake Erie!
During the ceremony Bonnie was crying so their son brought over a packet of tissues for her. SO cute!
The kiss!
How adorable is their son?!? He was so precious!
They were so happy and in love.
I adored Bonnie’s bouquet. It smelled heavenly and the ivory and pink roses were beautiful!
I loved the locket that Bonnie had with her Grandpa. It was a lovely way to carry him with her on her wedding day.
Their laughs were my favorite though.
How fun are Bonnie’s shoes? Loved them!
Once the formal pics were over with Lee got rid of his coat and got a bit more comfortable.
Just above where the ceremony took place dinner was set up on the patio.
How pretty is this table setup??
I laughed SO hard when I saw this picture. This is how everyone feels when they FINALLY eat after a wedding.
There were lots of emotional hugs taking place.
I adored this image of Bonnie’s dad giving his granddaughter a kiss.
The kids were all giggles!
