• I have to admit, I’m in LOVE with Margaux’s name. I really love how unique and old-timey it is. It’s so elegant and pretty… just like her!

• I have known Margaux’s Momma Barbee for about 25 years or so. Her sister and I were good friends and many years were spent at their house growing up. I was most often found there on Sunday when my Dad made pot roast. It’s not that it wasn’t good (looking back, I regret not eating it more because it WAS good) but that it was what my Dad made every.single.Sunday. Their Mom would always laugh when I’d show up looking hungry around dinnertime!

• Margaux’s Mom is the reason for my love of shoes. She had over a hundred pairs of shoes and I remember sitting with her sister and just staring in awe at the shoes in her closet which were neatly boxed in see through shoe boxes and organized by color and type of shoe. I never knew before this how many lovely shoes there were in the world as my Mom thought KMart was the ideal place for shoe shopping. Barbee’s plaid Keds were the holy grail for me and I still remember them vividly. It’s funny the things that stick with you!

• Barbee was the coolest oldest sister ever. I wanted an older sister just like her. She took us T.P.ing which was a favorite pastime of ours and even helped us invent an alibi when we were afraid we got caught (we didn’t, we were slick!). I still laugh anytime I see Rain Man because that was the movie we were supposed to have gone and seen and since we’d never seen it she kept drilling the quotes from the movie into our brain – I still can quote them. FYI Kmart Sucks! Ha!

• Back to gorgeous little Margaux… oh what a cutie she is! SUCH a good baby and literally a breeze to work with. I cannot wait until I see her again in May and hopefully the weather has warmed up enough to get her outside!!!
