The Event on Sunny Brook Wedding with Natalie and Cory

October 2020 did bring one thing that was amazing: STUNNING foliage!  The leaves were just so beautiful that year and they stayed that way for a long time due to not getting too many windy/bad storms.  For almost a full month I just had so much lovely backgrounds to work with and Natalie and Cory’s wedding was one of them.  Their photo locations weren’t anything grand but it was Ohio that brought the a-game for the backdrops!

It was my first visit for a wedding at The Event on Sunny Brook and I hope it isn’t my last.  To anyone visiting in the future – the small wooded area off the parking lot opposite the venue is where the second golden batch of foliage images were taken.  For an unassuming location it was SUCH a gem for gorgeous images!  The light was amazing and this was a prime example why I tell my clients not to stress too much over WHERE to go because often, especially in October in November, the light and leaves can easily make a spot you’d easily pass by look AMAZING in photos!

This was SUCH a beautiful and fun wedding day full of big smiles and lots of love!  I adored how Cory kept inching down the aisle towards Natalie as she came down towards him at the ceremony.  It was SO darn cute how excited he was to see her!  From that moment on his eyes rarely left his beautiful bride and he was all smiles!  They had SUCH a high energy reception and I LOVED when Cory busted a move to “Baby” by Justin Bieber with his mom for their Mother/Son dance!  So fun and original!

Patrician Catering Wedding with Jacquie and Chris

Whew.  Jacquie and Chris had the most popular wedding date that I may have seen in the past 15 years!  10/10/2020 was SUCH a hot date.  Combine a cool “date” with the most popular time of year for weddings in Ohio and BOOM.  Then add a pandemic… ooph.

While they never had to give up their date they did have to do some shifting of their original plans due to the pandemic which also threw at them their original venue (American-Croatian Lodge) closing.  Since they had a large guest list it was tricky finding a venue that fit their guest count AND was in the area they needed to be in.  Luckily Patrician Catering worked out and everything went well!

The day of their wedding was perfection.  The weather was wonderful, the wedding went off without a hitch and everyone was healthy!  WHEW!

I started my day with Jacquie and the girls while they were getting ready and then we did a ‘first touch’ with her and Chris once we got to Divine Word.  I love when my clients do first touches because it always seems to calm everyone’s nerves down! After the ceremony we headed to Downtown Willoughby and did some photos there before they took a break at the Wild Goose for some snacks and drinks before finishing up photos at Chagrin River Park.  We ended the night at Patrician Catering which has so many lovely details around the room!  Their dances made me SO happy and you’ll smile too as soon as you see the photos.  Jacquie is SO expressive it made everything so much more fun!

Thank you both so much for trusting me to capture your beautiful wedding day!  You’ll see this delightful family return again for their maternity and newborn photos from the next year!  I love when I get to continue my relationship with my clients!!

Fairlawn Country Club Wedding with Kathryn and Kevin

Kathryn and Kevin were one of the lucky couples in 2020 that managed to have a wonderful wedding that despite the worries regarding covid and didn’t have any reschedules!  I’m sure now a year later they are so thankful they stuck it out since things haven’t improved as quickly as we hoped.  Their day was a lovely escape from the pandemic – Fairlawn Country Club also kept it really safe for everyone and I give them mad props for that.  Our wedding vendor table had a server bringing our drinks!  I was so excited to have soda brought to me instead of having to wait in line!  A definite rare perk to this time during the pandemic.

I adored working with Kathryn and Kevin.  They were SO fun, their bridal parties were an absolute dream and everyone was easy to get along with.  It makes the day go so smoothly when everyone is as relaxed and happy as these two.  Thank you SO much for having me along with you for your day and trusting me to capture your day.
