Ross and Allison were guests at a past wedding of mine, Marshall & Colleen, so it’s another wedding where I did the referral happy dance!
Oh man, where to start with this wedding???? There was SO much to love about this day! They got married in my faaaavorite garden at Stan Hywet, the English Garden, the flowers were jaw dropping (PEONIES! IN SEPTEMBER!), the weather perfection, the bridesmaid dresses were swoon worthy, the vendors were wonderful…. you get the gist right? Just lots and lots of flowery and beautiful words about this lovely and sweet couple.
They did a first look in the amazing birch tree alle – one of my favorite places at Stan Hywet. Even better? THEY HAD THEIR DOGS WITH THEM! It was so awesome and wonderful that their dogs got to be a part of their wedding day. LOVE! After their first look and an hour of portrait time (!) their family and bridal party arrived for more pictures around the estate before the ceremony in the English Garden.
Allison’s Aunt was the florist and she managed to carry the garden inside the Manor Room in the “big house” inside Stan Hywet and I can’t even describe how amazing of a job she did. The flowers and decorations were just simply amazing.

I started the day with the girls at the Hilton in Akron. When I arrived Jason Kelly (LOVE that man!) was just finishing up with Allison just as I arrived.
After makeup it was time for hair and I think Allison enjoyed all the pampering!
I had fun playing with Allison’s shoes with her rings.
While I captured the classic images of Allison getting dressed, my favorite ended up being this one of her putting her shoes on.
The light was perfect coming in the window near the chair she was getting her final details on!
Ross also got ready at the Hilton but it was just a little less involved but I do love this image of him putting on his watch.
Since they were having both their ceremony and reception at Stan Hywet they decided to have a first look so there wasn’t any awkward pauses for the guests. Then the icing on the cake? THEY INCLUDED THEIR DOGS!
Allison arrived and began to walk down the birch alee to Ross. Sigh. SO PRETTY!
This hug is one of my favorite moments of the days.
How cute is this pic of them walking with the dogs? SO CUTE!
The light was so lovely even though it was mostly overcast it was bright enough that it at lit the alee up.
I’m still so impressed that the dogs posed for this shot!
One of my favorite places to play at Stan Hywet is in the flower garden.
This is my favorite from the day!!! <3 Take note of the amazing accessories Allison is wearing, they are vintage pieces from Miranda’s Vintage Bridal. GORGEOUS!
Allison’s Aunt did all of the flowers for the wedding and I was STUNNED when I saw Allison’s beautiful bouquet of PEONIES! IN! SEPTEMBER!!
They smelled so amazing and it was a joy to have a hint of spring just as the leaves begin to fall.
How amazing is this bridesmaid bouquet!?!?
I am in absolute LOVE with the bridesmaid dresses. I almost swooned when I saw them! SO beautiful!
The groomsman also looked good too!
How great does this bridal party look all together? I really am digging the grey suits the guys wore.
Yep, another picture of the gowns I am enamored with!
This year there seems to be a trend on guys wearing themed socks and I absolutely LOVE it. Ross and his men sported some OSU themed socks.
I’ve done this shot a million times and I’ll happily take it a million times more because it’s beautiful.
The huge leaves made a perfect nook to cuddle in.
The ceremony took place in the English Garden and how beautiful of an entrance is this?
Isn’t this scene just beautiful?
Ross and Allison read their own vows to each other which has been another trend I’ve seen surge this year. Love!
The kiss!
On our walk towards the cocktail hour the sky was beautiful at the overlook so I talked them into stopping for a quick picture and it’s another favorite from the day!
While the cocktail hour was going on, I made a quick detour to the Manor Room where the reception hall had just received the final touches on the decor. I’m still stunned with how amazing the room looked and what a transformation!
Allison’s Aunt really did an amazing job didn’t she? Such beautiful tablescapes!
I loved the favors!
After their entrances they went straight into their first dance on the dance floor beneath the lanterns.
So lovely!
One of my favorite details was that there were dress forms near the cake table that had each of their mother’s wedding gowns on it!
Allison’s sister started the toasting off and it was such a sweet speech!
Ross’s Best Man followed her up and kept it light.
Everyone was laughing!
During dinner I played with the rings with some of the props for the photo booth, how fun!
The dance floor was PACKED and it was a wild dance party!
When people break out the breakdancing you know it’s going to be a fun night!
I had SUCH a great day with you both! Thank you so much for having me along on your day!
