Hurricane Ike Displaced Brides

A good photographer friend of mine, Christine Tremoulet, from Houston recently posted about how some local photographers are offering to help out displaced brides from Hurricane Ike.  Two very popular venues locally are filing bankruptcy after their properties were damaged during the storm leaving brides without returning any monies paid upfront for the venue.

Based on my availability, I will offer one displaced bride 6 hours of wedding photography services with two photographers (provided I can find someone as my network isn’t QUITE as huge there as it is here!), online hosting of all edited images and a DVD with reproduction rights for the price of one round trip ticket to your location.  I would love to be able to do this for free like the local photographers are doing but I hope you all understand that I can’t do it totally for free 🙂

What I would need from you is a copy of your contract to prove that you are a bride that was contracted with either Tuscany of Garden Oaks or Bella Terraza, your new wedding date, a note explaining your situation and a photo of the two of you.

Please contact me via my email at corey@coreyann.com by November 1st.  Please let me know if your date is sooner – I do have some dates available before then if you are in a time crunch and I may be able to help out.  I will then let the couple know whom is chosen and will also blog about it.

The Rachael Ray show is following up with brides whose lives have been affected by Hurricane Ike. We understand that you were planning a wedding at a venue that’s no longer operating, and we’d like to hear more about your situation. We may choose some of the people who speak with us to come to New York and be part of a special holiday show. If you’d like to share your story, we’d love to talk to you. Please call us at 917-332-3154 and you can e-mail us at houstonwedding@yahoo.com. Please leave a detailed message with your contact phone numbers, day and evening and we will be sure to get back to you as soon as possible.

Our sympathy goes out to everyone who’s struggling during this difficult period, and appreciates you taking the time to share your story with us.ReplyCancel
