September and October are quickly becoming the most popular wedding months and it’s with good reason. The weather is beautiful, the leaves are starting to change color and the temps are a bit more predictable. I was crossing all of my fingers in hopes for a great weather day for D&D and luckily it worked because although it was a bit humid, it really was a gorgeous day. The only downfall to the weather this time of year is the bees. Oh, those bees. Just stay tuned because they played a special part in the day.
D&D seriously were so wonderful to work with. They were quite easy going and nothing that day ruffled their feathers. They went along with anything I suggested (resulting in one of my favorite evening shots ever) and were full of smiles all day long. Working with them was a treat!
I also have to give a shout out to how lovely the styling was for this wedding! They really went with the country/farm feel and it carried through everything all day. From the guys wearing jeans, to the ladies wearing cowboy boots, to the hat and boot centerpieces (and cookies) and to the guests who all were a bit more casual (AND a lot more comfy) than your average ballroom wedding – it was perfection. The love that went into planning this wedding was almost tangible and it was a treat to be able to photograph! Thank you for trusting me with your day!
Ceremony & Reception: Forever Farms / Cake: Cakes and Confections by Rebecca / Catering: Old Carolina Barbecue / DJ: Bella Sano Entertainment / Florist: Crystal Bloom
I loved how everyone was helping D get ready!
This shot of D with both of her parents was so darn sweet. They were so cute together.
Before the groom and groomsman arrived I took this image of D and her bridesmaids in the window above the barn.
Not long after the guys arrived in their limo and got off and were all in good spirits.
While everyone was settling in for the wait until the ceremony I headed out to capture some pictures of the setup because it was so beautiful! The old pews were so lovely.
I especially loved the altar setup for the ceremony.
Finally it was time for the ceremony and D was SO happy to see his wife coming down the aisle.
D’s Dad was so darn adorable and proud during the wedding day.
So here’s where the bees come into play… during the ceremony bees flew up the officiant’s gown and started stinging her! She held it together well but it took a few minutes to get everything sorted out.
During the time, a commotion started near the bride’s train and I thought that it was more bees (they were everywhere). Turns out that no, the Maid of Honor dropped the ring and they were trying to find it! D&D had NO idea though because of the bee commotion so it worked out!
The ring is found, the bees are gone and the ceremony continued!
I have had a few couples that have done the tree ceremony and I really love the idea.
First kiss!
I love their little cheer after being announced as husband and wife.
For the second week in a row guests blew bubbles at the couple as they recessed down the aisle. LOVE!
I know I mentioned it above but I really loved the styling of this bridal party. I loved the ways that everything tied together and the jeans were just a perfect touch!
Such a great bridal party!
The little kids were running around and finally were able to be snagged for one picture! Success!!
The guys were super easy going!
How cute is this ring bearer??!
This may be one of my favorite Groom pictures – D was talking to his bride and playing with the ring.
Now the ladies are up and I LOVED their lace dresses. LOVED.
I had to do an image focusing on the bouquets, dresses and cowboy boots!
Seriously, loved loved loved D’s look.
After a few portraits in the nook I’d found near the barn we headed down to the field I spied off in the distance with some purple flowers.
Favorite!
I’m glad we walked a bit for this spot. It was a cute little nook!
I always love when clients do a ‘thank you’ picture for their cards. This is another favorite!
For the seating “cards” they had the guests names written on a chalkboard tag on a mason jar mug which they then could use at the bar.
How cute is this cowboy hat centerpiece?
They had these gorgeous swarovski flutes (I nearly bought the same for my wedding) that begged to be played with for rings! They are on the base here.
After the entrance they went right into their first dance, which was perfection.
The toasts followed the dance and there were a ton of laughs.
I love when fathers are the ones to do the blessing!
After a delicious dinner by Old Carolina BBQ D and her Dad danced and OMG what a dance it was! They started out slow and then broke out into a whole bunch of coordinated dances to various songs like Gangham Style and Watch Me. It was perfection.
How they ended their coordinated dance. WELL DONE!
On one side of the barn they had a couple sets of cornhole setup with custom boards which people were playing all night long.
The garter removal took place later in the night and it was hilarious.
While circling the reception I noticed this guest blowing bubbles randomly and it made me laugh. Love it!
Everyone was full of giggles in the room and it was so fun to be a part of.
Before I left for the night I had D&D pose for a couple pictures and I LOVE the way this one turned out!!
