Wow. Where do I even start with this gorgeous wedding at Barrington Golf Club with Stephanie and Matthew? It was SUCH a great day from beginning to end with such fun people. I already knew I’d love them after our engagement session the winter before but their wedding day was even more magical.
The weather on their wedding day was super rainy but we managed to dodge almost all the raindrops while outside at the Cleveland Museum of Art for their photos which was magical because it was pouring everywhere but there! Their reception layout had to be a bit shifted around due to the rain but everything worked out and Stephanie and Matthew never batted an eye and just rolled with it.
The big bonus was that my husband got to be my second and it’s been a while so it was nice to work with him again!
Thanks to Stephanie and Matthew for trusting me to capture your beautiful day! I had so much fun with you!

As I usually do I started my day out with photographing the wedding dress and details. I instantly fell in love with Stephanie’s gorgeous gown. Isn’t this stunning?
I then photographed her beautiful heels and veil. Of course as the way things go, Stephanie ended up having to swap shoes with her sister because the rhinestones on the strap kept grabbing the lining of her gown. For those of you yet to get married, always be cautious when choosing shoes with rhinestones. They are beautiful but often the teeth ‘grab’ the lining of your gown when walking and make moving around a pain in the rear. Give whatever shoes that you want a test run – literally – and walk around with them on with your gown before deciding on the shoes.
Stephanie’s niece was her flower girl and SHE WAS SO DARN CUTE.
I am obsessed with Stephanie’s entire look!
Meanwhile Chris was over with the guys who decided to kill some time before the ceremony by shooting some hoops.
Soon enough it was time for the wedding ceremony and I LOVED this smile on Matt’s face when he was Stephanie!
How cute does Stephanie and her Dad look? BIG smiles are the best.
Cathedral length veils are always amazing but they really need to come with a hazard sign, almost every single time someone trips or steps on it and it’s usually the groom. This whole series was hilarious and luckily it was just a few laughs to break the tension and the veil didn’t come out.
Within minutes they were able to recompose themselves and concentrate on the ceremony.
Church of the Gesu is SUCH a beautiful space! I love the balcony here.
The exchange of the rings.
They do!
Once we got through the family formals we rushed over to the Cleveland Museum of Art. EVERYWHERE else it was raining but we managed to sneak in the only rainless hole in Northeast Ohio.
This was a candid moment between poses but I loved the image so much of Stephanie looking at her beautiful bouquet from the Urban Orchid.
I loved this group of guys in their blue tuxes!
I also dug their look without the jackets too – there’s something so dapper about suspenders!
I am still months later obsessed with this gorgeous look of the bridesmaids. From the gorgeous green color of the gowns, to the elegant style of the gowns, and finally to the way they were all pulled together with the perfect bouquets – they were stunning!
Aren’t these bouquets beautiful?
I love a casual portrait. They are classic for a reason.
You still need to have a few candids though!
You know I love a classic black and white “groomal”
This path is one of my favorites to have my couples walk back and forth on and man, these two WORKED IT. There’s a lot more from this space but I had to narrow it down to these.
There was another wedding party down near the fountain so I was trying to use this area as much as I could so we wouldn’t be wasting any rainless time outside. I loved this stairs and plan to use them more in the future!
This started out as Matthew just waiting for me to do a few photos with Stephanie but I loved the look of how he was leaning on the railing and decided to use it. This may be the favorite from the day.
I loved this one too!
Oh and this. Yeah, I loved it all. These two are so darn photogenic.
See what I mean?
Such a gorgeous group, right?
This was their first attempt to dip and their laughs made me giggle. Their second attempt is up top and man, they were pros!
A few more photos were in the trees before we left as the rain began to sneak into the area.
Originally the plan was to do more photos at Barrington Golf Club but it was an absolute downpour so we did a few on the porch and the bridal party just relaxed and snacked while they waited for the reception to start. Meanwhile I was able to capture a bunch of detail photos as everything came together in the reception rooms!
How perfect is this hand drawn sign for their signature cocktails? I still giggle at “The Matt”
I love, love, loved these centerpieces outside on the porch – the pop of pink really made these centerpieces stand out!
I also loved all of the geometric details – especially the table numbers!
The geometric theme was even carried through onto the beautiful cake from White Flower Cake Shoppe!
The evening kicked off with their fist dance outside on Barrington’s covered dance floor. It was perfect!
Next Stephanie’s Dad gave his welcome toast to everyone which made everyone laugh!
Everyone moved inside for dinner and the final toasts took place there and everyone was giggling through them.
I am always impressed when couples feed each other at the same time and do so without a mess!
After dinner the dancing continued with the parent dances before the dance floor opened for everyone.
Selective Sound did an amazing job keeping the dance floor packed and everyone was having a blast all night long!
Of course I had to play with the rings on one of the fun placemats!
