Brides Talk: Katlyn

I already have my first entry into the Album Giveaway!!! Thanks SO much Katlyn!!!

It was almost a year ago when I first started talking with Katlyn. She was actually one of my first bookings for 2008. Since she was out of town for school, we never actually met until after she booked me and a little before the wedding. Although this sounds strange, you’d be surprised how many brides I have that I’ve booked this way! Sometimes logistics just don’t work out and I can’t blame ANYONE for moving away from Ohio!

Katlyn married Aaron on June 21,2008 in Kirtland, Ohio (original blog here) and it was such a gorgeous ceremony. The colors were so vibrant and their bridal party was seriously fun. The day was one of those goofy Ohio days where one minute it’s sunny and then the next minute there is a downpour. Luckily we were able to nab the sunshine when we had it!!!

Katlyn earns my lifelong love (again!) for being the first bride to write up a Brides Talk for me!

Katlyn Talks

I am a poor Bible College student and I knew that I wouldn’t have a lot of money to dish out on photography. However I love photography and I DID NOT want to get married and end up with low quality pictures. I was planning a wedding in a state I’m not familiar with so I didn’t know a guy who knew a guy to get a great deal. I was desperate. I even started emailing high price photographers and just asking if they would do it for cheaper – Can’t hurt, right!? Well, then I stumbled upon Corey. I saw her work and loved it. I figured her prices would be thousands and thousands of dollars, just like everyone else, right? Wrong. Her prices were amazing!

And she did an AMAZING Job! I didn’t even see her during the ceremony and she captured amazing pictures! I’ve been to some weddings were the photographer is SO distracting and in the way and this was not the case at all with Corey. Also, I had a huge and very rambunctious wedding party. Corey got everyone under control (without being loud and bossy) and got amazing photos. I was ecstatic when I received them! -Amazing angles and tinting that made everything beautiful. She was so creative. I loved everything.

And not only talented, she was amazing at communicating with me and even drove up (1 hour out of her way) a few days before to meet with me and go over my ideas for the photos. She was so great to work with. She was very flexible and wanted to make everything I wanted happen. It even began to rain before the ceremony and Corey quickly looked up on her phone and ensured me that the weather was suppose to pass by before the ceremony was over. It was beautiful and sunny for my outside pictures following the wedding. Obviously Corey didn’t change the weather for me, but she was prepared with the radar she had downloaded on her phone for these sorts of situations and this calmed me and allowed me to not worry right before the ceremony.

Amazing skills, personality, and price. I highly recommend her to everyone.

I adored Molly & Chito’s wedding so so much.  They each only had one attendant but tons of friends who literally flew in from all edges of earth.  China, Japan, Australia- it was so awesome how far people came from to witness these two get married.  Both of their families were so fun to work…

It’s that time of year again!!! I had SUCH a great time getting to know Cara and Josh over the past year.  Last April we finally were able to get their engagement session completed on one of the most picture perfect spring days one could imagine at the Cleveland Museum of Art and Wade Lagoon….

  • Brides Talk • Nancy

Oh my goodness, I think for all of the weddings this year, Nancy & Jack may have won the lottery when it came to amazing light for their time outside for portraits.  I was practically jumping up and down when the light beams were coming through the woods and just lit them up so well….
