Brides Talk • Carrie

It’s my favorite time of year again, the annual album giveaway!!!  Don’t know what it is?  Go back and read past entries.

Today I’m bringing you Carrie’s Brides Talk.  I adore Carrie and Matt, we had such a great day and the weather gods shined on us and while it rained all morning, we had a gorgeous afternoon for photographs.  They were so relaxed and chill all day, it was just a great day and I felt like I was alongside two friends all day.  Get married every year, OK?

Here’s what Carrie says:

Working with Corey was an absolute dream! As soon as I saw her work, I knew I wanted to hire her to photograph our wedding, and our first meeting with her confirmed that. The couples in her photos always looked so natural and comfortable, and I hoped we would have the same experience.  After meeting with her a second time before booking (yes, I was THAT bride!), I realized that Corey and Matt seemed to share the same sense of humor.  I knew she would make my sometimes-nervous-in-front-of-a-camera-groom feel at ease!

Corey was one of the first vendors we booked for the wedding, which meant she had to deal with my anxiety-filled emails for months before the wedding!  Fortunately for me, she was patient and put my mind at ease time and time again.  She continued to do the same on our wedding day when the skies opened up and the rain came down in buckets!  While everyone else told me the typical rainy-wedding day clichés, Corey said “It will pass.  You’ll get your outside photos.  And if not?  You’ll still be married!”

She was right.  Just as guests started to arrive at the church, the sun came out and the ground dried up.  Not only did Corey capture every image I could ever dream of, she managed to keep us AHEAD of schedule, allowing for more time between photos at the park and our reception.

Corey has given us such a beautiful gift that we will always cherish.  It has been so difficult to choose pictures for Brides Talk, but here are just a few of my many, many favorites!

I’ve secretly always wanted a photo like this from my wedding day!  I love that you can see my engagement ring, as well as my maternal grandmother’s engagement ring that I received after her passing.  I only wear it on special occasions, and what occasion is more special than your wedding day?

There was a bit of a scuffle with the minister shortly before the ceremony began, which Corey mentioned in her blog post about our wedding.  I am forever grateful that she went to bat for us, otherwise we wouldn’t have any pictures of the processional.

One of the many beautiful pictures we have to prove that it didn’t rain all day on our wedding day!  And everyone looks good here, to boot!

Just because it’s our wedding day doesn’t mean Matt won’t harass my Maid of Honor!

I love this image so much that we sent it to the newspapers with the wedding announcement!  I also like that you can see Matt’s watch; my wedding gift to him.

And we love this one so much that we used it on thank you notes!
