Winter Walden Wedding in Aurora Ohio

Julia and Walter got married in December 2020. They’d been together for a long time and planned their dream Christmas themed wedding only to have a pandemic make things derail just before their wedding due to the curfew and gathering restrictions. While they still had their beautiful ceremony at Inn Walden, they opted to postpone their reception until February 2022, which they held at Pine Ridge Country Club. They also decided to renew their vows on the same day so they brought a bit of Christmas to the grey days of February and it was such a wonderful day!

Holy crap though IT WAS SO COLD! We got a significant amount of snow a couple days before which delighted Julia who really wanted snow. The snow really did help bring the Christmas magic to their Christmas themed wedding! The downside is that it was below zero with the windchill and it was pretty brutally cold. They all were CHAMPS though – especially the ladies who outlasted the guys outside in the snow.

They rented (and decorated!) Henn Mansion for everyone to get ready at in Euclid which I thought was a clever idea for a wedding in the winter. It was a beautiful place and gave them an option for indoor photos! The sun did pop out briefly so my second shooter Amy was able to quickly run outside with the guys before the brutal winds kicked in. Also, those stairs were stunning for a first look!

I really liked Julia’s spin on the bouquet toss at the reception. She gave each woman at the reception a single red rose vs. tossing a whole bouquet to one person. It was a really sweet and thoughtful change to the tradition.

I’m so glad their wedding redo went so beautifully! Congrats AGAIN to the beautiful couple!
