I think that Christen and Ben will go down as one of the most memorable weddings ever due to the crazy high temperatures that day. Heat is the way of the land for weddings in the summer but the heat index was well over 100º that day – in fact there was even a heat advisory the day of their wedding! To top it off, their chapel was not air conditioned! However what I loved most was that no one complained ONCE about the heat – not a guest, not a member of the bridal party – not even the bride and groom. Everyone was so enchanted with how much they loved one another and how lovely it was to see them get married that the rest didn’t matter. I also love that we share a mutual love of squirrels!!!
“I have been a fan of wedding photography blogs since before I even met my husband. So, when it came time to look for a photographer for my own wedding, I had a wish list of people I wanted to meet. The first, and only, photographer that we met with was Corey. From that initial meeting, my husband and I knew that she was the right fit for our laid back personalities. Her amazing portfolio of work spoke for itself.
Our engagement session at the zoo helped Ben & I become less camera-shy so on our wedding day, we knew what to expect. I would highly recommend an engagement session to anyone on the fence.
Even when weather wasn’t on our side on the day of the wedding, Corey got family portraits done quickly in a non-airconditioned cathedral in 96 degree heat. She then managed to squeeze in outdoor photos before the rain started pouring down. At the reception, she captured details and moments Ben & I may not have seen first hand in the whirlwind of that day.
Corey, thank you for your talent, and we look forward to having an event that will allow us to work with you again!”
My favorite image from the day
Ben’s favorite image from the day
Corey managed to get a picture of the moment Ben stepped on my veil, ripping it out of my hair. We all had a good laugh about it after the ceremony.
Our bridal party, dripping in sweat. Portraits may not be the most “artistic” pictures, but you’ll be glad that you have them.
There was a fantastic sunset, and most of our reception photos haves glimpses of it through the windows.
Exhausted, but happy at the end of the evening.
