Donating to Japan

Heartbreaking.

That’s the word that comes to mind every time I look at any imagery that is coming out of Japan. It’s almost impossible to wrap your mind around the amount of devastation and loss that was caused by the earthquake and tsunami. I wish it was possible to reach out and hug every single person in Japan or that have loved ones in Japan, but I can’t. I can do the next best thing though and donate to the cause and here are some great places that are matching donations – every bit helps!  I will update this post as I find any other companies matching donations.

I know there is a blogger silence movement today for Japan but I feel that instead of silence, blogging how you can help is a better way to help Japan.

I have never been to Japan so I can’t share an image from there but I can share an image from the coast of Maui which was affected (on a smaller scale) by the same tsunami.

I’m not one too much for popularity contests (leftover scars from always being the last picked for the kickball team I guess) but I figure I ought to make an attempt to get a few votes in so I would absolutely appreciate and love it if you’d be so kind as to vote for me!…

It’s that time of year when every vendor you know is begging for votes.  I abhor popularity contests – mostly due to the fact I was always the last one picked in school for anything in gym class – but I must admit that placing in the top 5 would tickle my fancy and elicit a happy…
