Timing is everything and sometimes it’s worth it to reschedule a session a few times to make the timing just right. Cara really wanted cherry blossoms in her pictures and we originally scheduled their engagement session based on when the blooms happend last year. However, last year March was unseasonably warm and this year it was anything but so we kept moving the dates back… and back and finally settled on this past Saturday. Then Saturday arrived and it was COLD. The wind was biting and the temps were below freezing. No one was going to look in love in weather like Saturday’s. No way. Thankfully their schedules were flexible and we ended up shooting on Monday evening and the timing was perfect. The blooms were out, the sun was shining and the temperatures couldn’t have been any more ideal. It was a perfect spring evening and I’m SO glad we rescheduled a few times!!! Weddings you have to roll with whatever weather you’ve got but you can always (well, almost) reschedule your portrait sessions and this session is why it’s sometimes best to wait for the perfect weather. I’m SO glad they did! I’m also doubly glad they waited until the evening hours for their session because it’s not called the “magic hour” for nothing! I had such a great evening with these two and I can’t wait to meet back up with them this September.
We started out at the top at the Cleveland Museum of Art. They used to allow you to go inside but the rules have got pretty strict. It’s OK though because the building is quite beautiful and thankfully FINALLY not under construction anymore!
Cara and Joshua said they were blog stalkers *waves* and saw this door in a past session I did here so we had to use it!
These yellow blossoms were so awesome and played well with their outfits. LOVE the way these turned out!
They had a quick wardrobe change and came back with adorable outfits on (I’m officially obsessed with Cara’s top!) and a blanket to cuddle on.
If you’ve been around my blog you know my deep love for Jason Kelly of JKelly Face Art and that man won my heart again with Cara’s amazing makeup. I’m broken hearted he’s booked the day of her wedding. *sniff*
Seriously, I can’t wait for their wedding.
Thank you for rescheduling time and time again. These pictures make me happy!
I normally don’t do the sundrenched look but for some reason I played with it last night for a couple shots and I really loved the way this one turned out.
So adorable!
I’ve always wanted a session with an abundance of blossoming trees to play with and I finally got my wish! Along with that wish I got a great couple, amazing light and perfect temperatures!
I even got them to do a Titanic kiss!!!
Thank you both for such a great evening!
Is it September yet?
