Family Portraits with the Lindsey Family in York, Maine

Almost every October I take a yearly pilgrimage to my favorite state, Maine (sorry North Carolina, you’ve been usurped) and while there I try to visit with friends who live in the area.  Gianina is one of the friends I try to touch base with when in the area – we even went to PEI together a few years ago.  It had been a few years since I had last done a family portrait of Gianina’s family so she scheduled a session while I was close to her neck of the woods a the end of this past year’s trip.  It was also well timed as her husband Tim had just been selected to be part of the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation’s team to run the Boston Marathon.  In the past he’s run for Boston Children’s Hospital for his nephew and son but since his nephew is now in good health he felt a pull to run for the cause which affects their family most – autism.  So, naturally, they were dressed in maroon and yellow to follow the theme for their yearly Christmas card.

Let me tell you how much I adore working for this family.  Tim is hilarious and always a laugh and Gianina is an absolute sweetheart but the kids are the ones that will steal your heart.  Aidan, their oldest, is wise beyond his years and always has a huge smile when I see him.  Cameron, the youngest, is the sweetest thing ever and always has a hug waiting.  Every time I work with them I leave with a huge smile on my face.

Initially we were going to try to go to my favorite spot in York (and maybe all of Maine) Nubble Lighthouse but there really isn’t a lot of variety there and while it’s scenic it doesn’t have a lot of varied looks for a session.  There’s also a TON of people typically running around which can be tricky for a portrait session to shoot around.  So instead I suggested Mount Agamenticus which was a pretty neat spot!  It was a good thing we’d selected an alternate location – I stopped at Nubble en route to the mountain and there was a photo shoot taking place for a company which had the entire park blocked off with vans and laters and about 50 people!  Whew!

Thank you for trusting me yet again with your family portraits!!
