Miss Gabriella Turns 1!
On Saturday we got to celebrate Miss Gabriella turning one!! Â It’s hard to believe that it was only a year ago that I met Gabby for the first time! Â She’s still as precious as ever. Â I think out of all the ages I’ve been able to experience with kids around me, the time around one year old is my favorite. Â Then again, every age has its charms! Â Hopefully in the coming weeks I’ll be able to shoot down to Columbus to do a proper 1 year shoot with this cutie!

Guess what awesome Aunt got her this outfit (and failed to get a decent shot of her in it?)???

Mommy Cat lighting the candle on her cupcake cake.

Why are all of these people singing to me?

She needed a pinch hitter for blowing out the candle.

It took a few minutes, but eventually Gabby proved herself as a girl after my own heart and grabbed her cupcake and dug right in. Â Atta girl!

YUM! Â I have to confess, these cupcakes were AMAZING. Â The icing was so darn good.
However the design of the cake was wrong, wrong, wrong. Â I won’t go there as it was a sore spot for the party.
Dear Kroger, when someone says no Tinkerbell, they mean no Tinkerbell.

For her first shot at eating a cupcake, she stayed pretty clean. Â I look messier when eating one and I’ve got 30 more years of experience than her!

In lieu of gifts, my sister in law wanted us to bring objects for a time capsule that Gabby will open when she’s 21. Â I.was.stumped. Â I wanted something that represented the current times, but something that also was reflective of me (oh yeah and my husband). Â I figured that she should have already seen pictures that I’ve taken in the past year so that threw out that idea. Â My next idea (thanks to Twitter!) was to put in a Polaroid camera with film and take a picture of her right before putting it in and have instructions to take one when she takes it out. Â Great idea, but since Polaroid has gone under, the cameras are hard to come by and I’m not giving up the one I have. Â Eventually after hitting up Google I came upon the idea of making a guestbook for her party. Â I used pictures from the day she was born and then had questions on the opposite page asking when they met her and other random questions. Â For the future Gabby, I asked what people thought she would be when she grew up. Â The book was a hit at the party and here is one of the guests filling it out. Â He thinks Gabby will be a Victoria’s Secret Model! Â Ha!

The party was pretty stressful for this little tyke and she conked out by the end of it. Â What’s great about this shot is that I have a similar shot from the day she was born. Â Daddy’s still enamored with his little girl – she’s just not the size of a hand anymore!

I love the guestbook and question ideas! I will so use this when I have kids!
Corey these are fantastic! I love the one with cupcake all over her face with a huge smile behind it. Wonderful!
