Personally, I think that Becca and Taylor chose the best date to get married… it may just be because it’s also my anniversary date! Normally I shy away from taking wedding commissions on our anniversary but after 8 years our anniversary celebrations have got a bit more low key and Becca and Taylor seemed like a fun way to spend the day (and hubs came along as my second shooter so we still saw one another).
Becca and Taylor were just a hoot to work with. They were both full of laughs all day and just so HAPPY to be married. Their family and bridal party were both a dream to work with as well. I must confess that my favorite part of the day would be when the ring bearer ran down the aisle and handed ME his pillow. He was my buddy all day long and I even allowed him to take a few pictures as he loves to TAKE pictures instead of being in them. You’ll see one of those below. Thank you both so much for trusting me with your day!
Ceremony: St. Basil the Great / DJ: Selective Sound / Photo Location: Squires Castle / Reception: LaMalfa Centre
I started my day off with the guys at Taylor’s house and this is how I was greeted. The guys kept offering me some but I refused. When taking a picture of the bottle one of the guys came in and was getting ready in the doorway and I really liked how this turned out.
This guy won my heart that day. I thought when I took this he wanted HIS picture taken. No, he wanted to TAKE the pictures.
So I let him (while I held the camera of course) and I loved this image of the guys he took!
I then headed over to Becca’s parents house and started with images of the GORGEOUS dress. I loved the lace!
So.many.buttons but they were worth it because they completely made the look of the back of the gown!
I’m still laughing about this. The ring bearer, my little buddy for the day, came CHARGING down the aisle, tossed the pillow to me and then ran back DOWN the aisle. That was a first!
This image of Taylor is one of my all-time favorites of the groom seeing his bride for the first time. Aww.
Becca’s Dad was SO MUCH FUN to photograph. He had a huge grin on his face all day.
The ceremony was perfection!
They were both all grins all day!
I’ve professed my love for bubble exits a few times but it holds true. They are just too perfect!
After the ceremony we had a bit of a drive to get to LaMalfa and Becca and I went back and forth trying to find a good spot that wasn’t too far off the route and we wound up deciding on Squire’s Castle. Luckily it wasn’t packed and we were able to pop in and out pretty quickly and the light was perfect!
How gorgeous are these guys? LOVED the look of the long pink and beige dresses and the black tuxes!
One of my favorite things about the bridesmaids look was that they were all in flats! Since you can’t see the shoes anyway it was nice that Becca let them all have flats and be comfy!
I also LOVED these gowns, so flattering!
Becca’s brother passed away a year before the wedding and I love how they chose to honor him the day of with black bands on the guys.
They cleaned up well!
The guy on the bottom cracks me up SO much. These groomsman knew how to have fun.
I love how I tell them to show me how excited they are for Becca and Taylor and there’s always ONE guy… who is SO [not] excited… let me know if you see him. Ha.
This one was just as much fun so I had to include it too.
I sent the bridal party away and had some time with just these two. I loved playing with Becca’s long veil!
I’m still in love with her dress! SO pretty!
I really liked the drama of the veil!
It’s rare that you can even get this image at Squires Castle on a summer day without a ton of people running around in the image. We did have a couple of boys that were being ‘photo bombers’ but they finally knocked it off.
And I still rue the day that people made photo bombing a thing.
One last picture before getting on the bus!
We got to LaMalfa and while everyone was getting settled I ran around getting detail images of what I could. This ice sculpture was too cool (ha) and the ice luge was in use later in the night to make ice cold shots.
After the entrance they went right into their first dance and it was full of laughs and smiles.
The cake cutting went off without a hitch!
Becca’s Dad gave a toast and everyone was laughing.
After dinner the reception picked back up with the parent dances.
Once the formalities were over I took off with the rings and did a few images before I started hearing drums. I wondered what in the heck was going on and came back in to check.
What was going on was the start of the traditional Lebanese dances! SO MUCH FUN!
The dance floor was PACKED the rest of the night and I managed to capture these two taking a moment amid the chaos before I left.
