I have to confess, I really love when I work with couples that are wedding vendors.  There’s small touches all day that they do because they know what the other side looks like and make my day a wee bit easier.  It’s the small things – like having a seat at the reception, being the table served after the bride and groom and having details like the invitation ready to photograph – that make a huge difference in the day to us.  So, needless to say, it was an absolute treat to work with Pamela and Chuck because Chuck knew, from being in the band, what makes your day easier.  THANK YOU!

I had such a great time these two during their engagement session and knew their wedding day would be wonderful.  Of course, I was right.  Sadly their ceremony had to be moved indoors due to thunderstorms that kept popping up in the area, but they held off just long enough for us to get portraits done outside and even gave us a rainbow for a photo op later on in the evening.  If it has to rain on a wedding day, you can’t ask for better luck than that.  My favorite detail about the day though is the hand painted canvases that Pamela created for each guest as a favor.  Such a wonderful idea!!!  There were so many lovely and wonderful touches that Pamela and Chuck incorporated into their wedding day to make sure every guest left with a smile.  It was a joy to be a part of it.

This was also my first “Unplugged Wedding” due to my blog post and I thank everyone for putting their phones and cameras away.  It truly did make for more wonderful pictures.  I also have to give a shout out to their amazing Pastor Dan Page, who was not only excited about the unplugged wedding but also a breeze to work with!

While the bride was still sorting things out after things were shuffled last minute due to the on and off rain, I took her GORGEOUS invitation suite out for a stroll and some photos.

This was my THIRD teal wedding in a row and I have to say, I’m pretty much team teal now.  It photographs beautifully, it looks good on everyone and I just LOVE it.

I love that moment when a bride realizes she is a BRIDE.  Here’s Pamela’s moment of realization and she was such a gorgeous bride!

The unplugged (!) ceremony was short and quick but so lovely.  It’s a shame this gorgeous arbor wasn’t outside per the original plan but man did it bring the outdoors inside.  Isn’t it amazing?

I love the ribbon wands that Pamela had her guests wave when they were pronounced man and wife.

We sped through the portraits after as the rain loomed but we still had time for giggles.  I love how Pamela incorporated teal into the bridesmaids ensemble with teal pearls and tied the melon color in with the bouquets.  They set off the black dresses fabulously.

The guys were dapper as well.

I also loved how the entire bridal party was made up of family.  Pamela’s sisters (one is a twin!) and their husbands along with Chuck’s children made up the party and it was perfection.

We went to the area where the ceremony was supposed to take place for some portraits while the rain was still holding off.  The light was amazing back here!

FAVORITE!!!

I wish we could have gone into this amazing field but due to the soggy grass we couldn’t so we made do with just in front… and that worked just fine!

The awkward laughs are often my favorite moments!

They had blank boards for their designer to add in “Thank You” later on but they ended up loving a different one from the set so I added (crappily lol) a Thank You in because I loved this image due to Pamela’s awesome laugh!

The tabletops were SO gorgeous.  I”m still drooling over a month later over this amazing teal and pink combo.

Is this little hand painted canvas not the cutest thing ever?  I LOVE that Pamela did this for her guests.  Such a thoughtful and sentimental touch.

Artists always amaze me with their spin on wedding favors!

Their candy buffet was also a feast for the eyes and I adore the sign that went with it.

You know I had to play with the canvases for the ring shot right?

I was tempted to sneak home one of the teal canvases!  AMAZING!

Just as they were entering the reception the rain started (you can see the drops somewhat) but they went umbrella-less and I love them all the more for it.

Chuck’s son gave such a great toast, sometimes you’re never sure where the Best Man toast will go but his was perfection.

I love this image of Pamela’s Dad and Chuck’s Mom as they were running back to the tent with their umbrellas.

The cake cutting was super sweet and perfect.  No messes here!

Their first dance was lovely and check out Pamel’s gorgeous headpiece!

Yet another awwwww!

Someone mentioned there was a rainbow so I hijacked one of the umbrellas and drug Chuck and Pamela over for a quick shot with it.  It may not be the most amazing landscape or setting but I was thrilled to have been able to nab this portrait!

Chuck’s band was playing and you could tell he was conflicted about being on the other side of the stage.  Kind of similar to how photographers feel on the other side of the lens!  He jumped in for a couple songs to join in but while I was there he was refraining from picking up the trumpet.  The guests loved the treat!

Just as I was leaving Chuck’s son got up and played guitar and sung as well and I was glad I was able to capture this moment, he was great!
