On an unseasonably warm day in February I was honored to document Gretchen and Dan’s wedding at Walsh University. In a twist from most Catholic weddings, these two opted to do a first look and do their photos before the ceremony which meant that we got to take advantage of the rare sunshine and (relative) warmth! I love when my clients don’t get stuck on numbers and have the bridal party they want regardless of who has however many. Gretchen opted for a smaller party for her ladies but Dan went for a larger party with even more ‘bonus’ members that were ushers. It made for a fun day with TONS of laughs.
Gretchen’s family singing The Oak Ridge Boys “Elvira” to GREAT fanfare was one of the highlights of 2020’s weddings for me and honestly was the last dance floor I felt safe on. While it’s weird looking back on this wedding almost two years later, I’m so glad I had such a great wedding to ‘go out on’ so to speak before the world shut down and weddings got a bit different.
Thank you both so much for allowing me to be a part of your date! So many belated congratulations to you!
