• One thing that always stays the same in Ohio is that the weather rarely stays the same. Friday, Jenny + Brian had gorgeous weather, sunny skies and warm temperatures. Saturday, Lauren + Matt had rain, rain, rain. Did I mention the rain??? Let me tell you, it wasn’t a misty rain like others have lucked out and had but full out downpours. They were absolute TROOPERS though and we still did all their pictures OUTSIDE!
• Lauren and I quickly bonded over our mutual love for our Amazon Kindles during the planning process. When the K3 came out, I was on the list and kept telling Lauren how fantastic it was. Matt is literally a groom after my own heart because his wedding gift to Lauren was the K3. WHAT A GUY! *applause*
• It’s funny how almost all of my double header weddings had the same colors! This weekend was no different with purple being the main color at both weddings.
• I love, love, loved these bridesmaids dresses. I am such a girly girl and these dresses captured my heart and made me want to be a bridesmaid for anyone having me in one of these dresses, particular the Maid of Honor’s. *sigh* It was gorgeous.
• This bridal party was beyond wonderful. Even though everyone was miserable in the rain, they never ONCE complained. They were willing to do anything I wanted, all for the sake of making sure their dear friends had the images they wanted from the wedding. Beyond that, they were crazy kind and wonderful to me. Every time I look back on this wedding, I beam! Thank you guys for being so terrific.
• Lauren’s Dad gave one of the most beautiful toasts. I can’t remember it verbatim, but the gist was that since the day she was born she’s made him laugh, she’s made him mad, she’s made him smile but today was the first day she made him cry. Yep, I teared up typing that. There wasn’t a dry eye left in the place!

It’s rare that I start the day OFF with jewelry but since Lauren was running a bit behind from the salon I took some pics of the details before she got back.

Everyone helping Lauren get dressed

Luckily the location Lauren chose for their first look had a gazebo. It was just them and me – I loved that they planned to have the bridal party picked up while they shared this special time together!

While she couldn’t be a part of the big day formally, their dog Lucy was able to make it for a few pictures. I love that Lauren even has a matching leash!

Lauren also planned ahead to have some umbrellas on standby once she saw that rain was in the forecast for the day.

Aren’t they a handsome couple?

Lauren wanted some pictures in the woods so we ducked into a small trail. She’s such a trooper!

Afterwards the bridal party had arrived and it was off to our second location for pictures. The rain had really picked up from a light drizzle to a full out rainstorm but no one complained a bit!

Despite the cold and rain, the girls were still able to laugh!

The guys were also easy going – even willing to go without the umbrellas for this shot so the girls wouldn’t get wet!

Hello beautiful! This is my favorite wedding image of 2010. I love EVERYTHING about this image. The rose garden, the rain, the umbrella – oh yeah that pretty couple too.

We left and got back to the venue with just enough time to shake off some stray bits of rain and everyone dashed down the aisle! During the ceremony Lauren and Matt did a wine box similar to Sarah and Zack’s. Lauren is a blog reader *waves* and loved the idea! :)

Dear Cupid’s Cupcakery, I will miss you! These were heavenly!

One thing I love about having all wedding events on one site is the ability to bounce between the reception area while it’s being set up for images and bouncing back into the cocktail event. I LOVED Lauren and Matt’s sweetheart table. Isn’t it gorgeous?

Popping into the cocktail hour for a picture of Lauren and her Maid of Honor!

I love this look of love during the toasts!

Just before Lauren’s Dad made everyone cry!

The cake smashing was hilarious! I believe that they were supposed to be good but Lauren couldn’t resist! It’s funny, in the past few years there haven’t been many messy cake cuttings but this year there has been quite a few! They always make hilarious and wonderful photos so I’m all for the trend!

You know you have a fantastic Maid of Honor when she picks the chocolate out of your teeth so you don’t have bad pictures. EVERYONE was cracking up! Is it any wonder why I loved this bridal party?

The first dance was wonderful and sweet!

The father/daughter dance was a tear jerker.

The mother/son dance was equally as emotional!

The anniversary dance was so wonderful and it ended with the grandparents winning. They were so darned cute and fun and I loved this expression of glee!!
Lauren and Matt, thank you so much for hiring me, you guys were wonderful!!!!

Corey I absolutely love your work. I am going to be a MOH in a wedding next August and love what you have done. I am definitely passing your information on to the bride. I only have one question…what is the location of the picture in Lauren and Matt’s wedding under the East Beach awning. Looks lovely!
It’s a park near Lorain
