When I have a wedding I am always obsessively checking the weather up to and during the day of. Even if the events are indoors, I still like to keep on top of things because a rainy day often means having to find an indoor location for portraits and most of those locations require a fee for use and scheduling can be an adventure. When I have an outdoor wedding, I’m even more on the ball because often the indoor options just aren’t anything like what my clients have in mind for their day. At the end of the day, the most important bit is that you are married and – like I tell my clients – the rest is just details. However, after all that planning I really want my clients to have the best they can within my control. Which is why the day of Lisa and Tony’s wedding, I was THAT vendor (sorry Williams on the Lake!!!) and I kept urging Lisa to hold off on deciding to go indoors because the rain looked like it should move through JUST in time. With Ohio the radar can do crazy things but this time I was right and the rain moved through and the wedding was able to go off outside without a hitch. YAY technology!
Lisa and Tony were probably one of my most chill clients this year. While Lisa was not exactly thrilled that it was raining when I arrived, she was still smiling and laughing with her friends and family and just enjoying the whole process of getting ready. Tony and his guys were cool cats just lounging around and waiting for the call to be made for inside or outside (some were on chair duty) and just relaxing. It was just so much fun to be around them all day, anything I asked for, they were completely game to do and there was little that they stressed over. The smiles never stopped all day and night long.
Thank you both so much for trusting me with your day and for having me along!
Wedding Ceremony & Reception: Williams on the Lake (Lakeside South Building) / DJ: Marino Bros / Florist: Roses for Weddings / LED Tree Rental: Catans Bridal / Colors: Purple and Grey
Lisa’s dress was so fluffy and lovely. I had to capture it from below!
She had very few requests for pictures but one was the rings with the date on the newspaper and I loved how it turned out!
This one I went rogue with and I loved the way it turned out. If curious this is with the bridesmaids shoes and necklace.
While the ladies were relaxing I went down to capture some of the guys getting ready.
When I went back up it was time for Lisa to get dressed. Her smile is the best and I love how happy she is here!
This is when the skies finally started to clear and I knew that the wedding was definitely happening outside. YAY! But man, the skies were ominous to the north.
Tony’s huge grin when he saw Lisa for the first time may be one of my favorites of the day.
Lisa and her Dad were so darn cute together.
The petals were blowing around and instead of being lined along the runner they were scattered from the wind… and I think I preferred it that way. So pretty!
They wrote their own vows and they were beautiful.
During the vows the flower girl, who had to be carried up the aisle, decided to start picking up the petals and it was hilarious.
The kiss!
Lisa wiping a tear from Tony’s eye – aww right?
I loved that the guests blew bubbles while Lisa and Tony processed down the aisle.
I loved this bridal party shot mostly because the flower girl nailed it. How stinkin’ adorable.
The groomsman were so awesome to work with and not just because one of their names is Corey. 😉
I LOVED the look of the girls and the alternating purple gowns. SO pretty!
Finally, just us!
These two were a dream to work with, they naturally fell in together and the look of love was unmistakeable.
Favorite!
Oh wait maybe this one is?
No this one! Oh man, so hard to choose.
These are the AMAZING LED trees that EVERYONE was talking about during the wedding reception.
Their cake was also pretty awesome and I adored the silhouette cake topper!
I loved the purple decor of the tables!
The first dance was so sweet and perfect.
The toasts had everyone giggling.
The parent dances were super sweet and lovely. Take note of Lisa’s beautiful clip she had! Love!
During Uptown Funk (LOVE that song but I confess, I like the Harry Potter one better lol) Tony’s Best Man rolled out on his swagway electric skateboard and danced around on it. It was the first time I (and I think many of the guests) had seen such a thing and we were all transfixed.
Love when I’m able to capture the bride dancing with her Mom!
The garter removal was hilarious – love how the Marino Bros do it!
At the end of the night one of Lisa and Tony’s few requests were for some sparkler pictures. I was limited on where we could go and this spot had a huge spotlight which made it a bit tricky but we made it work and I LOVED this one the best of all of them. They were so patient with me (this isn’t a quick process and takes a few tries to get one right). This one is DEFINITELY the favorite from the day!
