Engagement | Jessie and Justin | The Whalehead Club in Corolla, NC
As you may know, I’m a big fan of The Outer Banks in North Carolina. Â I vacation here quite a lot, 5 years ago I got married here and I’ve even photographed a couple weddings here as well. Â Someday I will live here! Â In July I was vacationing here with friends (once all the client stuff is caught up it’ll be blogged!) and during the trip I was able to squeeze in an engagement session with clients of mine that are nearby. Â Yay!
The Whalehead Club is an old duck hunting club that was built in the 1920’s. Â It changed hands a few times over the years, at once time even being a boys school. Â Eventually it fell into disrepair and was abandoned and many of my younger memories of this mansion was the tales on how it was filled with snakes (later I found out this was true) and being scared of how it looked. Â In the late 90’s they started restoration of this building and I am SO glad they did as it’s an absolutely gorgeous home and should be shown off. Â The grounds surrounding it are also beautiful and it’s one of the best places to watch a sunset in Corolla.
Jessie and Justin met up with me on a crazy weather day. Â It rained off and on for our entire stay and we luckily managed to dodge the rain clouds that kept chasing me all week. Â The sky wasn’t quite as dazzling as I’d hoped but at least there weren’t any storms (and some that week were crazy strong, even produced some tornados and water spouts). Â They were so easy going and fun to play with! Â See you guys in a couple weeks!

I love this view 🙂

This bridge is a historic bridge and I love old bridges! Â On the other side of this there was a bunch of kids catching crabs in traps which was fun to watch!
