Happy Veterans Day!

? My heartfelt thanks goes out to all of those that are serving or have served to keep America free.

? A special thanks goes out to my family members that have served including both of my Grandfathers and my brother whom are all gone.

? Guess what today also is? My Grandmother Doyle’s birthday! She’s no longer with us but I still smile because the only way I used to remember her birthday as a kid was because it was Veterans Day and we had to make sure her card was in the mail before today b/c mail doesn’t go today!

? Give a soldier a hug or send a box of goodies overseas today. Because you can and because they do what they do. It will make you feel all warm and fuzzy I promise.

? Since a post isn’t a post without some pics, I leave you with two shots of my Grandfather Doyle during WWII.

My grandfather (tall guy carrying the box on the left) carrying the Nordan Sight for the Atomic Bomb to the plane. It may not be the brightest spot in American History but I am proud that my Grandfather was someone that had a part in ending WWII. He trained the bombadeers that would eventually drop the bomb.

My grandfather during WWII at an unnamed base. He looks so young!!!

Children: Miss Lana is Two!

? I have known Miss Lana since she was a wee peanut, even though she is still a peanut she has got a lot bigger since I first met her after she was born!

? These pics were taken a couple weeks ago at Kingsway Pumpkin Farm. Although we didn’t end up going into the farm because of the LONG wait (we’re talking 1 hour just to PAY!) it still looked like a lot of fun from the outside. They also have a corn maze that looks like tons of fun. Hopefully next year we’ll get INTO the farm and do some more pics. We ended up just sticking in the front area where you could purchase pumpkins.

? Lana’s 2nd birthday was technically the day before the shoot… but we’ll still call this her bday shoot!

? I’m jealous of people with October birthdays. Such great color and themes for parties and pictures!

She saw her grandparents coming up the walk and got really excited!

Favorite shot of the day, by far!

Married: Carolyn + Matt 10.10.09

? After their engagement session I had a feeling this was going to be one of my favorite weddings of the year, I was right! I laughed from the beginning to the end and had SUCH a great time.

? Big thanks to my husband whom was my assistant for this wedding.

? Their first date was at a Browns game so it was only fitting that their wedding incorporated many things from their first date including brown and orange for their wedding colors and hitting up the Pro Football Hall of Fame for pictures. I’d imagine that this theme could have ended up gawdy but it was SO beautiful and perfect. They did a splendid job pulling it all together!

? Note to future couples, a dancing pole on the bus makes for fun times! Who knew?

? The bridal party played football. Tackle football. Be jealous. It was awesome.

? Not too much text because there are a LOT of pictures here, I wanted to include more but I knew I had to restrain myself. Wanna see more? Go to their album on Facebook! If you wanna get the first glimpse of things to come on my blog be a fan of my business on Facebook! I tend to upload there first!

dancing pole
I wasn’t kidding about the dancing pole. It was a RIOT and everyone had fun with it.

pro football hall of fame wedding pictures
Going to the Pro Football Hall of Fame was very important to this couple.

pro football hall of fame wedding pictures
Also important? Playing a game (or three) of football. I wasn’t kidding. They were either, girls vs. boys and the girls threw down just as much as the boys.

football wedding pictures
Yes, they did a chest bump after a touchdown by the girls.

football wedding pictures
The groom wasn’t afraid to tackle his new bride.

football wedding pictures
The bride also was a mean quarterback… and she didn’t break a single nail!

football wedding pictures
What do you call a bride playing tackle football on her wedding day, in her dress? Fierce.

football wedding pictures
This tackle by the groom made for a great moment to be captured.

football wedding pictures
The girls? They kicked butt and took names. Needless to say, they won.

football wedding pictures
The groom takes a hit by the bride.

football wedding pictures
After about a half hour of playing, they decided to wind down and take some “touchdown dance” bridal party pics. Here’s the guys version.

football wedding pictures
This one is the girl’s touchdown dance. They win, again.

football wedding pictures
They got married on 10-10 so I had to play with them on the 10 yard line!

golf course wedding pictures
After another dance party on the bus, we all arrived at the reception location to finish up the pictures on the golf course. The bride and groom wanted a picture with a thank you sign for their cards and I noticed that Carolyn’s hot shoes would match the letters so asked her to make sure she showed them off. You all know how much I love shoes!

golf course wedding pictures
They are just so adorable!

They actually got a hole in one!!!!

golf course wedding pictures
The leaves had JUST started to pop and it was a beautiful backdrop for love!! 😉

golf course wedding pictures
This was an in-between moment that I captured, it was pretty chilly as soon as the sun started to go down and Matt was trying to warm Carolyn up between poses. So sweet 🙂

maid of honor toast

cake cutting
Their cake was YUMMY!

rings on football

first dance

bridal party dance
After a couple minutes into the bridal party dance, the DJ had everyone join hands and spin around the couple. It wasn’t easy to get a clear shot of them so I decided to play with my shutter speed so you could get the feeling of the spinning.

bouquet toss
The bouquet was the looser in this fight over who caught the bouquet first, it was hilarious!

garter
To remove the garter, the groom actually danced up to the bride. It is hard to explain but it was awesome, perfect and funny!

Thank you guys SO MUCH for choosing me to be a part of your day!

Best wedding ever! Love it! The football pics are so neat, and I LOVE that photo of the first dance (?) with the bridal party circling them. My absolute fave though is the first B+W in the church. Such a wonderful mood captured.ReplyCancel

[…] Carolyn won last year’s Album Giveaway and quickly got the images she wanted to include from her wedding to me.  I couldn’t wait to get this album from my company because I was not only eager to see the cover (the leather I didn’t have a swatch for and I was interested to see it) but all of the images in print.  I still LOVE that they played football during their “picture time” the day of their wedding. • […] A few years ago I photographed Carolyn and Matt’s wedding and it still goes down as one of my FAVORITE weddings – and not only because they sent me home with a bottle of wine!  Ha!  They were just such a fun group and 6 years later I still haven’t had another bridal party play football (they legit played – tackling and all!).  Since the last time I saw them they’ve added two adorable kiddos to the mix and I was able to photograph their new family a few weeks ago.  These kiddos could not be any cuter and I’m looking forward to a few more visits with them this year.
