Ariel International Center Wedding with Annemarie and Ryan

Man and woman in bridal attire in front of Lake Erie at sunset

You never ever know what you’re going to get with Ohio weather, ESPECIALLY in October.  Now, I LOVE October.  It’s my favorite month and not just because of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s quote about Octobers.  However, it can either be 80 or 20 so you never know what it will bring, especially for a planned outdoor ceremony.  In the end though it was a PERFECT fall day.  It was a bit cool but not too cold for a rooftop overlooking Lake Erie.  I’m so glad they were able to go forward with it because it was beautiful.

Annemarie and Ryan were a delight to work with.  All day they were charming and just so sweet and fun together.  Ryan gave her the most lovely wedding gift – he wrote a book of memories of their times together and how he felt during them.  EVERYONE was in tears, the bridesmaids had to leave the room so they wouldn’t ruin their makeup.  It was such a thoughtful gift!  Ryan got an Oculus and he was STOKED.

Their ceremony was so full of personal touches and so much fun!  The bridal party entered by dancing up the aisle to the altar and the gusts loved it.  The arch at the altar was made by Annemarie’s grandfather and was so lovely!  I loved the varied grey tones of the sola wood flowers and bridesmaid gowns.

The reception was amazing!  The toast from Annemarie’s sisters, which was SUNG and had a presentation to go along with it, literally brought everyone to their feet.  THEN!  SO MUCH AWESOME DANCING.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dance floor so wild and fun.

Enjoy reliving this fun wedding in Cleveland with me!

Brookside Farm Wedding with Brooke and Meghan

October wedding at Brookside Farm in Louisville Ohio

I always tell people I will do anything in my power to make sure my clients have the best wedding day.  With Brooke and Meghan’s wedding that meant when one of their Dads forgot his dress pants I called my husband who wears the same size and he rushed over with a pair of new dress pants for Dad to wear.  While this is a first time my husband has swooped in with his own pants, trust me when I say that this isn’t the first time a Dad forgot to bring a key item of clothing and we’ve scrambled to make something work.  Whatever I can do to help make the day go smoother, I will do!

Now, back to these lovely ladies and their beautiful wedding day!  It’s always a treat when I get to work a wedding at Brookside Farm and this may be one of the most beautiful weather days I’ve got to work there!  I loved that Brooke and Meghan got their hair and makeup done together – it made everything a lot easier since there’s only one (amazing!) bridal suite at Brookside Farms.  After they both had hair & makeup complete they went outside to read their letters to one another and then separated until they walked down the aisle to get dressed and final touches done.  Such a clever way to keep the surprise of the aisle moment yet spend the day together!

Their wedding day was everything you’d want a wedding day to be.  Sweet, lots of laughs and so much love for the two of them!  It was such a perfect day.

I also would be remiss if I didn’t shout out Karen’s Floral Designs because the bouquets were AMAZING!

Congratulations to you both, it was a delight working with you!

Landoll’s Mohican Castle Wedding with Jeannette and Shawn

Wedding at Landoll's Mohican Castle in October

2021 and 2022 will probably always stick out in my mind as the years when weddings happened on any day of the week.  While I’m not one to judge on that (I got married on a Wednesday!) it definitely is out of the norm for me in Ohio and I always have to remind myself that I have a wedding during the week so I don’t forget and get into the normal wedding season mode which is shooting on a Saturday, editing Monday – Wednesday and usually doing engagement sessions Thursday/Friday and repeat.

Jeannette and Shawn got married at the beautiful Landoll’s Mohican Castle on a beautiful Tuesday in early October.  It was SUCH a perfect day.  Just warm enough that it was enjoyable to be outside but not overly hot so we weren’t sweaty and miserable.  The sun was perfect and any wedding with Catherine Daniels / Ohio Wedding Lady is always going to be a favorite (HIRE HER she is amazing!).

Jeannette and Shawn were also such a joy to work with!  It was just the two of them and I just love sweet intimate wedding days.  Shawn is a trumpet player so he played while Jeannette walked down the aisle and it was just so lovely.  These two also didn’t bat an eye either when I *had* to have a photo of the random t-rex with the wedding bouquet.  Also, HUGE shout out to their beautiful wedding vows.  I definitely cried, they were so sweet.  They also sent me home with a slice of cake which was just the perfect way to end a lovely day with them!

Thank you both for trusting me to capture your wedding!  Congratulations again!
