Jesse and Amanda’s Wedding at Gervasi Vineyard in Canton

My last wedding of 2013 was on the final weekend of the year and when they booked the date I had visions of snowy vineyards in my mind. Turns out that despite the month being quite snowy and cold (like this session a few weeks before) the last Saturday of December decided to be different and be about 60ºF and sunny! That’s one thing in Ohio – you never can guess what the weather will be in ANY season! Initially Amanda was a bit sad as she had a winter wonderland in her mind for her wedding but after doing the first look and being able to walk around the estate without being cold we all realized that 60 in December wasn’t so bad after all.

These two were such a joy to be around all day. They didn’t have a bridal party and while bridal parties can be SO much fun they often bring some stress in as well (we all have that friend that is always late). It was really lovely to spend the time with Amanda and only her Mom as they were getting Amanda dressed for the day because it was so serene and calm despite some nerves.

Gervasi is one of my favorite places locally for a wedding and it was fun to see the difference in the estate from this past summer to now. I’ve been here now for various sessions in all four seasons and each has their own charms.  It’s fun to have a place for weddings that is beautiful year round!  Bonus perk is that it’s literally straight down the road from me so I can be there in a matter of minutes!

Their wedding day for me was a short and sweet coverage of just their ceremony which is offered only in the off season.  I hope you enjoy this lovely intimate wedding with these two lovebirds! Thank you for hiring me for your special day 🙂

See what I mean about the weather that day? The blue skies were amazing!

I am still lusting after Amanda’s shoes. They were so sparkly and amazing. Reminded me of the glitter of snowflakes.

Amanda’s Mom helped her get dressed and it was such a sweet moment.

The final touch going on, the veil!

They did their first look on my favorite bridge at Gervasi.

These two were so cuddly and adorable, I just pretty much captured them as they were.

This is one of my favorite spots in all of the estate. It was nice to be able to have the whole estate to use for pictures since there were no other weddings going on. If there are, you have to stay in your “zone” for pictures. FYI to future brides here.

This is the first time I’ve been able to actually get into the vineyards for a picture! It was a bit muddy but these two were champs. At one point Amanda took off her shoes to walk since it was easier than getting her heels in the mud. I told her she didn’t need to do that but she was fine with it. That moment pretty much describes just how wonderful these two were to work with.

After their portraits around the estate, it was time for the ceremony!

How adorable are they?

PS: I also ADORE Cathy Daniels and if you’re looking for an officiant you definitely need to hire her!  <3

One of Amanda’s must-have images was under the entrance to Gervasi Vineyard. It was tricky getting this image because cars kept coming and going but we finally nailed it. My favorite from the day by far!
