It used to be that June was “the” wedding month and all other months were just bridesmaids to the June bridal month. However, times have changed and at least for me, September and October are “where it’s at” when it comes to popular wedding dates. This year was no different but there was one thankful reprieve in the craziness that is September and October – a weekend with two short and lovely smaller weddings WITH marvelous weather which was a blessing since both events were outdoors.
Angela and Kevin were my first of the double header weekend and they had one of the most beautiful backyard weddings I’ve ever seen myself OR anywhere! I posted a few teasers to my instagram and people kept asking me what vendors did what and were shocked to find out the bride, groom and friends were the main wedding vendors for this wedding. Not only did they tackle the decor themselves but Kevin cooked all of the food and Angela baked her cake and most of the cookies. I’m still in awe over this! I even had a friend contact me asking me if the bride did cakes professionally b/c she wanted a cake just like hers!

When I arrived Angela was trying to decide on a necklace and I saw her daughter checking out the ceremony and setup in the backyard.
Once everyone was ready we headed over to a park nearby for some portraits before the wedding.
The light was gorgeous in this patch of trees near the creek so I took them over here for most of the portraits.
I love the pink touches!
I ADORED Angela’s ensemble – especially the belt! So beautiful!
The tan suit was a fun departure from the “norm” of grey and black! I loved this look!
These two are so adorable with one another!
One final cool little nook at the park!
How amazing is this setup??
I’m in LOVE with this petal design in the aisle! I still can’t believe how amazing it looked.
The altar was made by the groom as well and it looked perfect!
It was a short but sentimental ceremony – not many dry eyes in the group!
It was a sun drenched ceremony and was glorious!
The kiss!
Cookie tables are the best and this one was GORGEOUS!
This drink station was next to the cookies and I loved the setup!
I used the adorable server from their cake set for a backdrop for the rings.
Kevin’s friend gave a hilarious and perfect toast.
After a DELICIOUS BBQ dinner prepared by Kevin (the pulled pork was the best I’ve ever had!) we did a few more portraits with Angela’s daughter while sitting on the arbor.
Dance break!
How amazing is this cake?? Angela’s friend iced it and she baked it.
The topper was ADORABLE and I want to say that the banner is from etsy and is adorable!
The cake cutting went off without a hitch.
The kids had SO much fun at the reception – there were a few games of cornhole setup and other things to keep them entertained. Their favorite thing was playing in the rose petals though, naturally.
It was a lovely evening with friends and family gathered around and chatting. Dan Flading was playing music or singing himself off and on but it wasn’t loud and everyone was able to have a conversation.
A lot of people played cornhole while others gathered around the fire to keep warm once the sun went down.
Before I left we did a few pictures and I love the way the one with their thank you sign turned out!
