Spring wedding at Stan Hywet in Akron Ohio

Man oh man how much I loooove when I have a wedding at Stan Hywet in Akron! 18 + years in and I’ve been there numerous times and thankfully *knocks on wood* I’ve never had a ceremony get rained out! They do such a great job here at running weddings smoothly and efficiently and it’s always a joy to work here!

Lindsay and David had a beautiful wedding day for their wedding and we were able to get to all the places they wanted to go for photos and we even had enough time to get to my favorite spot on the property – the bridges over the lagoon which I rarely have time to get to. I love that they were able to have their dog along for their day too, which is a huge perk to having a wedding at Stan Hywet! They are dog friendly!

We have to pause a moment to GUSH about Lindsay’s STUNNING gown by Maggie Sottero. It was the perfect choice for a wedding at Stan Hywet and I adored she had the french bustle with it to keep the elegant lines. It was just a stunner of a dress and when I was pulling images for the blog I had to pause and have heart eyes at it for a moment. I also adored that she paired comfy Tom’s with it – such a smart choice for when you want to cover a lot of different terrain at an estate like Stan Hywet!

After the events at Stan Hywet they headed over to Pick’s at PLX for their reception. I had no idea there even was an event space here! Unfortunately, much like every other business in this space, they have gone out of business since this wedding took place. Hopefully whomever takes over this space keeps the event space because it was a beautiful spot for a smaller wedding reception with lovely views of Portage Lakes!
